Enjoyed finding out who was who in the painting with my friends. LOVED the breads and muffins at brunch.
Having dined at many of New York's popular restaurants. I must say that the Redeye Grill is an exceptional place to dine. We started with cocktails. The guacamole dip as an appetizer was the best we've ever tasted. Better than I have ever had at any Mexican restaurant. The girls had a shrimp cocktail that was outstanding. Pricey for lunch but the food was delicious. Menu similar to the dinner menu with a few sandwiches and luncheon salads. Had the scallops which had a wonderful spicy sauce and were perfectly prepared. Others at the table had the wiener schnitzel which has a Redeye bent including anchovies and smoked salmon as well as the traditional fried egg and a tuna special. if you have friends in for the evening of fun in and around the theater district,at the tourist prices, this is the place to take them for some good sea food and drinks. WE take in the place once a month. and alternate between their other 4 establishments. there service is the same high standard of each.
Dinner and service were as great as ever. The grilled striped bass was a winner, and the fiend calamari never disappoints! Always love to eat here!
The drinks are way over-priced (typical for the neighborhood) but no complaints about anything else. If you go you MUST have the signature banana cream pie dessert!
The restsaurant was empty, yet they sat us in the middle of the traffic zone next to the serving station.
