Instantly seated even though we were thirty minutes early without a question. Excellent table service, we asked our waiter to select our wines, and after a few considered questions he returned with two excellent glasses. Fillet mignon cooked perfectly black and blue, the 8oz is more than enough unless you've not eaten all day, wide choice of sides to go with it. Crab legs scampi style are also perfectly done, well worth trying the risotto pancake if you've not had it before too.

Whenever we stay in midtown we go to the Redeye. It's just up the street from our lodging at West 57th and always dependable for good food and service. We are seafood addicts so usually go for a fish dish, and both my wife's salmon and my sea bass were excellent choices. What we enjoy most about Redeye is the carefree ambience; everyone seems to be having a good time, it's always full, and people of all ages seem to be enjoying themselves. One of those restaurants around Carnegie Hall that's always guaranteed to provide a solid meal, even if not completely inventive, and perhaps a bit pricey for what it is. Generally easier to get a table than next door at Trattoria dell' Arte, there's a good selection of seafood and other staples that fill the bill, especially if you're in a hurry pre-theater.

We've been to the Redeye Grill and have never been disappointed. The food is good, the service is excellent and we will definitely return.

I booked this restaurant as part of family New Year holiday to New York. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. My son and I ate steak. Steaks were cooked to perfection. I can't remember eating a better New York strip! It was mouth watering. My wife and daughter ate crab salads which they say were delicious. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned two days later for another very nice meal

We dined here on Thanksgiving. There was only a price fixe menu available. There was a good choice but it was a little pricey for the kids. Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was very crowded because of the holiday so the service was slow. They put us in a room off the main dining room (I am assuming because of the kids} and I think they forgot about us from time to time. That also contributed to the slow service.

Clam chowder is rich and delicious, lobster roll was fresh (could have used a little zip), and crab louie salad - great presentation and flavor. Fresh baked goods delivered to table make amazing dessert!
