Excellent food, from the Alaskan King Crab Legs to the Filet Mignon, and despite its size and the crowd (always full), it is relatively quiet—actually, for New York, it is very quiet!
We went here for a special holiday family dinner. The service was outstanding, and the chef accommodated a special request to serve our son's lobster out of the shell. Our kids (6 and 12) were treated well and enjoyed themselves, and we had a very good meal-- and due to the lively ambiance and the other diners (who were mostly adults), my husband and I felt more like we were on a date than at a "family" restaurant.
Fresh oysters and crabcakes - delicious. Redeye also has a nice selection of meats - one of the few places to get traditional wiener schnitzel. Food is excellently prepared and despite having every table full before a Carnegie Hall concert, our waiter was attentive and service was excellent. We were not at all rushed and made it to the concert in plenty of time.
