We were very disappointed that the restaurant was mostly empty and they gave us the worst table. We wanted to come 30 minutes earlier and there were no reservations available. Pretty shocking when we arrived and maybe 80% of the tables were empty.
Server did not check in between courses yet continuously checked on the table next to us. He didn’t crumb the table after apps. Server did not ask us for another round of drinks after our first. I sat with an empty glass for 25mins before he approached us again to clear entrees. I asked for the drink menu and he never came back to get my order. Just kept walking by our table ignoring us. We had to ask the server assistant for the check. He never offered dessert menus. As someone who works in restaurant management this is exp... read more
We decided to give Redeye Grill a second chance after a disappointing visit. Confirmed our sense that it is overpriced and the food is meh. The shrimp cocktail shrimp were on the small side and the other portions were also on the small side. The presentation of the lobster roll was interesting but the bread and lobster were mediocre. Not worth going
The shrimp dumpling tasted very fishy and my salmon was way undercooked despite ordering medium
While our pre-theater service was good, we were seated at two separate tables and our friends at the other table waited over an hour for their food. The only vegan option on the entire menu was a thin and flavorless butternut squash soup — nothing else — not even bread. It’s 2025, do better at being more inclusive.
When trying to create an experience for NYE dinner and book as many people as possible into the restaurant, you end up not delivering.
Service was great and meal was delicious! Ordered an 'affogato' for dessert and the server said...not on the menu but I'll gladly make it for you...it was teeny tiny...charged us for espresso AND gelato (1 tiny scoop) totaling $23 or $46 for 2 affogato...crazy!!! They were so small and way overpriced. Boo, Red Eye Grill.
The food was very good. However, the waitress asked us if we would like bread for the table. We said ok and at the end of the meal she charged us $10 for it. I thought that was petty as we didn’t ask for the bread, she offered it to us.
Some of the worst food I’ve ever gotten in NYC. Had a sea bass fish of the day, guacamole, brick chicken, crab cakes, clam chowder, and beat salad. Where to begin. All entrees came out no more than 5 minutes after ordering, cold, as if they’d been sitting waiting. Fish had a weird, tough, hard to chew scallop topping, needled with bones throughout. Thinnest piece of sea bass I’ve ever seen. Brick chicken was cold, and overcooked. Clam chowder was tasteless and chewy with a random single cherry tomato garnish floating in it. ... read more
