never a bad meal at the redeye grill...always delectable food with great service. a new york treasure!!
consistantly good food, nicely served, with a knowledgable and helpful staff and all footsteps from carnegie hall. great for before and after the show.
I wouldn't call the noise level "energetic." It was just plain loud. Service was spotty.
The quality of the food was very good but overpriced for the portion given. My daughter had a crabcake and a small bowel of clam chowder which was 19.95. The crabcake ( a little bit larger than a silver dollar!) was dwarfed on this giant plate with a small amount of greens. I had to give her one of my seafood kabobs. Each kabob had 2 scallops and 1 shrimp with some griiled veggies.
Make sure to ask how much the specials cost. We assumed that the special would be reasonable priced, but the Dover Sole was $48.00 for a large piece od grilled sole and a few grilled vegetables. It was delicious however.
Redeye consistently delivers good food in a good environment. Even the prices are reasonable for the value. The service is outstanding. They are there when you want them & leave you be when you don't need them. They can get you in & out if you are headed to theatre, but let you comfortably linger if you are not in a hurry. And, best of all, you can hear the people you are with talking. It's is one of the few mid-town restaurants where noise is not an issue. It is always a good choice.
We had a great time at the Redeye Grill. We were a party of six with very different tastes and there was something for everyone on the menu and each dish delighted its recipient. We went for a late lunch/early dinner and the restaurant was relatively empty and thus delightfully quiet. The service was terrific -- attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely return.
Located conveniently across the street from Carnegie Hall, this seafood restaurant is a must for a pre-show or post-show dining. Their fried calamari is lightly seasoned and battered - probably the best fried calamari I've had. Their crabcake and shrimp entree is delicious, as is their chilean seabass claypot. I tasted the dishes of others in my party, and everything was fantastic. The bar is also cozy and chill. I occasionally dine here and will continue to come back.
