When Ristorante Bartolotta's first opened, it was Milwaukee's only gourmet Italian experience. The pride of the kitchen was exemplified by every dish. Unfortunately, through the years the restaurant has settle into mediocrity and Bartolotta's isn't the wonderful culinary experience it once was. The bill is expensive and the food just okay.
Unfortunately, I cannot offer the service level a five star rating. The food was excellent, however, I may have been overcharged for my dining experience. My father and I both ordered single portions of Penne ai Crostacei $17.95 each, and a single order to go w/Ceasar Salad $8.50. I had three glasses of wine which were $6.50 each and Pop's had a Lemonade. My bill was $117.00. By my estimation my total should have been approximately $85.00
Anniversary dinner that was one of our best ever in 21 years.
As always the service could not be outdone. The foi gras onion tart was delicious and the perfect size for a shared appetizer. You can never go wrong with the seasonal menu - its always a must have. The duck ragu pasta was perfect. Great robust sauce with wide-papardelle pasta - yumm! So many wines to choose from, and our servers were very knowledgeable and made great recommendations.
Very expensive but unique and good food
Great service. The timing of the food from the appetizer to the salad to the entre to the desert was prefect. The taste was wonderful. Great atmosphere.
Salmon was small and fishy. Salads were tasty but small for the price paid.
Food was only OK with limited menu. I remembered it to be a special dinning experience but this was not that. There are better in this price category.
Every aspect of the dining experience is well above any of which my wife and I have had anywhere in the country!!!!!
