not worth money. food was bland. avoid this restaurant. wines overpriced.
We went on a Friday at 6:30. The area was saturated with traffic and parking was an adventure. My advice, UBER/Lyft if you decide to go. My expectations were high as I have always associated the Bartolotta brand synonymous with quality, creativity, and excellent service. Our server appeared to be some what discombobulated. Sat outside. Nice setting. Service wasn’t great. Didn’t offer crushed pepper with salad. Had to wave down wait staff to get things. Never asked how meal was. Unable to order ala carte.
Unfortunately we had an unusually disappointing evening. We normally enjoy our experience at Bartolotta’s. This evening was not the case. We spent a small fortune. Despite the cost, the food was overcooked, the menu choices were fixed and not to our particular liking, and the staff was surly. It will be a while before we consider returning.
We have eaten here many times and the new menu is limited. A few of the old favorites are gone. The food was average to good depending on the coarse. It feels like cost cutting measures and while it is understandable give the last year I would expect the Bartolotta Group to do a better job. Bacchus and Lake Park have a similar setup. Not sure I will frequent those restaurants based on this experience. A little disappointed.
The rotating regional theme focused menu is novel and we enjoyed trying that option. Perhaps it was the region, Calabria, but we were a bit underwhelmed by the cuisine. The soup was described as having potato, but it was too heavy with chunks of potato and the broth was not as flavorful as anticipated, especially since the region is supposed to offer "peppery" seasoning, as described by our server. Food was ok but not great overall, especially when looking at the cost of their one price, 4 course dinner. Not a good value and would prefer to have option to not spend $65 on each dinner. Portions were pretty small also for the price. Octopus salad was excellent. Left feeling like it was NOT a good value unfortunately as I used to love Bartolottas and really wanted it to be fantastic.
We were very disappointed that it was a tasting menu. Neither of us wanted a large meal. We had looked online and seen the regular menu and had no idea it was a tasting menu. Service was great as always at a Bartolotta restaurant. Cocktails were excellent, but the menu and food were disappointing. The Sardegna menu options were not really what we were looking for. Food was acceptable but not outstanding.
Did not realize they ONLY have a 4 course option and would not do individual entrees so we only had drinks (which we very expensive.). I realize they have to make up Renee from the pandemic but they just lost a regular.
