Working within Covid is not easy for any restaurant. But here you have to put your mask on every time a staff person comes to your table- which is MANY TIMES. Your only option is the four course dinner so you need to be hungry. Every time someone brings a new course, clears the dishes, brings new utensils - get out the mask. I won’t go back until I can order off the menu and Covid is in the past.
We did not enjoy your mask protocol and thought it was excessive. The Sever having to tell us every time he was approaching the table was tiresome and unnecessary. Will not go back in those conditions....food was Great!!!
We have always enjoyed Ristorante Bartolotta, but this time we were disappointed. The service was not as attentive as it has been in the past, and although the food was good, it was also not up to par. It will be awhile before we go back.
I took my daughter out for her birthday dinner. Neither of us were super happy with the meal that we ordered. She ordered the duck Ragu and I ordered the veal scallopini. For $35 I would think that veal would’ve been a good grade of veal or prepared better. The veal was very tough and chewy. I am a frequent visitor of the Bartolottas restaurants and I have to say I was not that pleased on Thursday evening.
Despite having 2 wait staff, we often were waiting for someone to come to our table. Food was good, but had to order the prix fixe lunch with 3 items, which was more than we needed. Used the ladies room and the floor, at 1:00 in the afternoon was absolutely filthy. Looked like it had not been wiped up/ mopped in quite awhile with lots of spots and stains and dirt. Very disappointing in a restaurant of this caliber.
Wanted to ring in 2020 with a fantastic dinner. Always having a spectacular dinner experience with other Bartolotta locations, I certainly didn’t expect the let down we received. First, our tables were so close to one another, I had to apologize to the couple already seated as I felt I was interrupting their dining experience just to get seated. Too rushed by waiters; had the duck and it was dry. Had to ask for items like coffee and water etc. constantly
We reserved a table for 2 by the windows weeks in advance. Had that reservation confirmed. Arrived for reservation 5 minutes early. We were NOT go even our reserved table for 2 by the windows. Person seating us just stated unapologetically’sorry people came in and asked for those tables’. Very disappointed. Why make reservation? Not professional at all.
Ristorante Bartolotta is one of the premier restaurants in Milwaukee, yet it is everything I detest in a restaurant: overpriced food; too many diners in too small a space and no valet parking in a congested area with little to no onstreet parking. It was painfully loud! The gentleman at the next table practically became a part of our conversation. (His back was only about a foot away from our table when he was at normal eating position.)
