Shortly after I made my reservation the menu showed there would be a la carte or fixe price available. I am diabetic and usually at lunch I have soup & a salad , or light entrée. I was not happy when I opened the menu and saw only fixe price for $33.00. I had to order 3 courses I was disappointed that there was no a la carte. I think that $33.00 is overpriced for lunch, especially when there are no a la carte choices.
1. Host yelled at two people holding the door for an elderly man, "YOU ONLY NEED ONE DOOR OPEN." Pretty embarrassing. 2. We asked what the waiter would recommend for a bottle of wine- we took his recommendation. Little did we know, the bottle was $122. Didn't find this out until after we got the check- quite alarming. Darn good fine dining but the drinks are expensive and the food costs could drop 20% . This isn't NYC or San Francisco. Once tip is priced in - $200.00 for two senior citizens is just too high for a better than average meal.
We have been coming here for many years. After being it of town for a couple of months we came back tonight and we’re surprised that service and food quality were not what they were in the past. Ceasar Salad was overdressed and inedible, bread was nondescript, duck ragu and rigatoni were good but truffles did not add anything despite’s the hype and high cost. The service was slow and inattentive. We will give this restaurant a break and hope things get back to their prior standards.
My wife and I came for her birthday dinner and were very disappointed, especially in the service. We had reservations but stood around waiting for ~20min, then proceeded to receive subpar service. The food was mostly excellent, but a combination of things - awkward comments from the waitstaff, a single water refill over 2.5hrs, and not having the one dessert my wife wanted to try, made for a terrible impression. We were given no reason to return.
Very disappointing evening. The service was terrible. Bread was brought late and only offered once. Fresh Parmesan cheese was not offered with the entrees. Salad and entrees were not very flavorful with limited dressing and sauce.
The person I went with had the clams with spaghetti. He could only eat a small portion of it because it tasted bad. He got sick because of it later in the evening.
Very disappointed in our experience here. Had 2 overbearing waiters who were not attentive. Food was not great at all; wished we had gone across the street. Won't go back.
We had mixed results for the 4 of us. One really liked her food, my wife and I were unimpressed and have had much better meals there. My papardelle noodles were great but the duck ragu was flat and not flavorful. My wifes dish was like Mac and chees with a few peas and tasteless. Noodles across the street would have been better. The service was excellent and attentive and helped select excellent wine. I expect better from the Bartolotta group.
