The service and food were terrible. We had to practically beg to get service and the steaks (this is a steakhouse, yes??) were cold and tasteless. When I let them know, they gave me a small gift card to come back - like that is ever going to happen. I threw it in the garbage...where it belongs.
Ordered the CAB prime steak with potatoe and French onion soup. I told the waitress my steak was overdone and had a ton of gristle (I could only eat half and my plate moved all over the place while tried to cut it). The waitresses response was "gross" with no follow up. French onion soup was good and the potatoe was nothing extrodinary. Felt like I paid for a very expensive soup as I left. The Ahi Tuna tartar as an app was delicious.
Food quality was bad
The steaks were average, but not worth what they cost. The exception being the CAB steak which was great. The main problem was the poor service. My water was not refilled the entire night. We asked for the bill and finally I had to go to the counter to pay. The only thing nice is the place has good ambience.
Our server did not appear till 45 minutes later and that was to provide wine....we almost finished half the bottle waiting to place an order for our food. (The restaurant was not busy at all) This is the first time I've ever been served cold food, would have complained, but we waited so long and had to make an appointment shortly thereafter. Steak was thin and mediocre in quality, and was overcooked. It was our first time there and we won't be returning.
Simple chicken sandwich for lunch served on a cold (previously frozen but not quite thawed?) bun just wasn't the quality of food or presentation that I would have expected. No opportunity to share this feedback as our server didn't check in on the meal, nor bring our bill until asked. Unfortunate experience, I won't be back.
While the steak was very nice, the sides were a disappointment. And due to mechanical issues on the kitchen, the restaurant was filled with smoke and we were asked to eat outside on a cold, windy evening. Not the atmosphere I was hoping for...overall, a great disappointment and a terrible value for the price.
What stood out to my wife and I when we dined at Saltlik? It would have to be the incessant flirting of one of the wait staff with a customer. From neck and shoulder rubs to constant compliments about jewelry, this display set an extremely awkward atmosphere to our dining experience. The food quality has definitely dropped from previous occasions, the burger competly fell apart and the spaghetti & meatball was barely warm.
