Honestly, this used to be my favorite restaurant in the city. We just had 8 people in for a special occasion and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences of my life at anything near that price point. I requested to write happy anniversary on our dessert to surprise my wife but it didn't happen so I'm disappointed because that day is very special for us.
We had a theatre deadline to meet and told our waitress when we came, but we were very tight on missing out performance. I've liked Saltlick for lunch, but not so much for dinner.
Server came to our table 1/2 h after we arrived and didn't came to check on us afterwards . We had to ask for service .,,
Went to Saltlik for the YYC Big Taste, and we were gravely disappointed. For starter I got a salad and my boyfriend got a Moroccan chicken soup, the lettuce in the salad was bitter and tasted like it was a week old, and the Moroccan chicken soup was literally chicken, chickpeas and some paprika, not very much flavour to it and quote unimpressive; an appetizer I can prepare within 5 minutes at home. Food was too salty and ruined the whole experience.
My fiance and I dined at this restaurant on a Saturday evening. It was busy but not terribly. We were greeted by one server who took our drink order and then another server came over and told us he was our server. The server who took our drink order was fun and knowledgeable, where as the server we ended up with seemed new and didn't seem confident in what he was doing. The noise generated by people, music and hard surfaces was so loud that we could not hear each other talk without having to almost shout at each other.
Usually the lunch is a really great experience our drinks and ceaser salads came quickly. Waited for aleast 35 min for our steak sandwich's and my client's steak was not even cooked so he sent it back , arrived at 11:45 in the morning and did'nt leave till almost 1:30 by the time we waited for my clients steak to come back and finish up desert. Usually it's always been top shelf, I understand it was really busy on Friday. Thought I would be honest with my expirence.
