Dining at The Commodore could not have been better. Small menu, but no problem finding interesting items in all menu categories. Great service and quiet enough to carry on a conversation. Look forward to going back.
From our initial arrival with a guided tour of the restaurant to enjoying our delicious entrees, we both were satisfied with the service and quality of our food. Excellent wine menu too.
Very awesome Art Deco-type restaurant. Great cocktail lounge, A+.
We have been waiting for the right time to try out The Commodore. Had been slightly disappointed with 445pm reservations for the night but enjoyed every minute there. Wonderful decor, drinks, food and SERVICE! Had been concerned they would rush us along for another seating at that table but at no time did we feel pressured to hurry. It is not just eat and leave. What a beautiful place--we were thrilled to experience a lovely meal here. We were very impressed with the food quality and presentation but a little less impressed with the cocktails. Busy for a Thursday night, but server was gracious under pressure. Wrong dinner entree arrived for one of our party of 4; hostess and server both apologized and offered to charge only for the correct entree ordered. We had two (2) pork chop orders, one (1) roasted cauliflower order and one (1) poached salmon on black rice. Clean plates all around. Following the December City Pages article about 11 cocktails that make drinking fun, I ordered the Tequila Cocktail (a margarita with blood orange): it was terrific. My wife commen... read more
This was a very pleasant way to celebrate my wife's birthday. The service and quality of the food were outstanding. My pork chop was as good as I have ever tasted. The only problem was the noise level in the room in which we were seated. The other rooms seem to be more quiet, perhaps because of different acoustics.
