Art deco re-invention of a classic 1920 speakeasy hotspot. Highly recommended!
Outstanding vintage atmosphere; classy! Service prompt and attentive throughout the night. Waiter Anthony went above and beyond to make the evening special. Seated early in the evening in the bar area which became increasingly noisy and eventually hard to carry on a conversation. Food served promptly and everything excellent esp. the bacon wrapped dates, lobster deviled eggs, squash risotto balls and the Commodore fries - presentation classy, flavors superb! Portions rather small for the price we felt. Prime rib was good but... read more
The food was delicious! Had to find street parking because of the confusing and restrictive signage in the parking lot.
Great food from a wide variety within the smaller menu to each and every one of the five dishes being flavorful and fresh. Well done. You won't be sorry to have a meal here!
i love going to the commodore they always make me feel special and the food is so fresh and tasty
This place is ideal for special occasions. Menu is limited but all is good. Especially get a couple of appetizers. Getting there early also minimizes the noise level.
Simple yet elegant. I love the ambiance of this restaurant. The menu adds elements of history and the Great Gatsby. My new favorite place. There are even lounge areas which don't require a reservation.
I thoroughly enjoyed my vist to the Commodore. The location is charming, in a historic neighhborhood between Selby and Grand in St. Paul with great seating in the bar and parlors around the dining room. Our waitress raved about the food and said that all of it was great. I had Dover Sole that was very llght and tasty and my husband enjoyed the Salmon. Everything on the menu sounds fantastic. We will return as I loved the restaurant.
Delightful evening with friends, the hot salmon salad was delicious, our appetizers were bit of a disappointment but the bartender knows how to mix a good martini which counts for much in my book. The atmosphere is divine, comfy and cosy.
