I normally frequent a different location, but was in the area today and went to Meriden. I felt compelled to write a positive review and give a shout out to Connor at the front desk. I was so taken aback by his customer service. As I waited for my shake, he greeted or said goodbye to nearly every member by name! He went above and beyond to make small talk and clearly enjoys his job. This is rare these days. Connor definitely made this gym a welcoming place and is an asset to the staff.

I really do not understand the hate for this gym. They explicitly tell you their billing and contract policy upfront, half of these commenters obviously do not read when they sign things. Even when I had billing problems, they never lapsed my membership and I understood at all times why I was being charged late fees etc. the staff is always been really friendly and responsive to any questions I have. This is a really good gym overall. The staff is very friendly, equipment is always working. There's a great assortment of machines too. My one knock on it is it's just too crowded from the late afternoon til 8 or 9 PM most days, at least at the Meriden location. Also, I wish there were more cleaning wipes throughout the weight area. I guess how busy the gym is is just a function of having a really nice gym. If it was easier to get on machines and weight benches, this would be a 5 star gym.

Lol not gonna lie, I love this place. I don't know what's wrong with people. This is 100% the absolute best gym around. Non gym goers leaving bad reviews lol

I abs love this gym. It has a movie theater in it with a bunch of equipment inside that makes it easy to work out a little more privately while enjoying a movie if you're interested in watching. The personal trainer I have is where it's at though. I can't recommend it enough! If you're going to do training this is the place to go!

Gym is still nin great shape after about 7 years being open. Connor, who works at the front desk is the most curtious, genuine, and attentive front desk attendent at any business let alone a gym. "Front desk attendent " doesnt give him the proper credit. Honestly one of the best parts of the gym is his attitude, and no one even comes close to his second best.

I don't like commercial gyms, solely because I like to be in and out with my whole workout done. With that being said, The Edge is the best commercial gym in the state. Always updating equipment when they can, and catering to the needs of every skill level. Staff is always friendly, wish they'd uphold the chalk rule more but I can't complain.

Disclaimer: I'm not a member, went with a friend as a guest who is learning how to powerlift. First impression. Place is big and clean. Temp is cool but comfortable on a hot day. Looks like a fair amount of equipment and not too busy (but it is Sunday afternoon, I've been in previously and it's been a zoo). Went back to the squat racks and found 3 - a decent number. Was happy to find a 25# bar as my friend is a smaller female. So in terms of powerlifting activities: - Squatting. No issues here. Plenty of plates and bars ... read more
