Located in Northern California’s Mendocino County there is a skunk running through the redwood forest, but this isn’t any skunk, it’s the world famous Skunk Train. The California redwoods, pristine coastline, and award winning vineyards are all a part of the landscape of what makes Mendocino County such an amazing place and home to this 131-year-old train.

Well managed, beautiful location, dog friendly. We walked the 0.9 mile loop trail through a redwood grove at the end of the ride; it was breathtakingly beautiful. The train makes a lot of clanking noise which can be scary for a dog, so be prepared to bring along your dog’s therapist.😁
A beautiful Christmas outing with the family! The vibe was great. There is an outdoor car to enjoy the elements which was really tremendous once we entered the forest! Good snacks and lots of fun. We loved it!! A+
So fun! If you enjoy a tranquil few moments in time, this is a great family adventure. It’s something a little different and an experience that is what you make it. It’s not a barn burner activity, but a sweet ride with sweet people that strive to make it a special day. It was a special Christmas activity to get us away from the hustle and bustle.
We had a fantastic time on the train as well as the Blair bar.
While in Fort Bragg, we rode the Skunk Train's Pudding Creek Express and loved riding through the redwoods on the open car. At Glen Blair Junction, you can hike before returning to the station to marvel at the model railroad and historical display of the area's logging. Great experience for young and old alike. Don't miss it!
We had so much fun and we learned a lot about the history of the area and of the train itself. The staff is amazing, in particular Conductor Nick and the amazing singing Conductor Malakai!
My daughter and I came from out of town to visit my sister. They had never been before. We decided to go on a Saturday. It was so beautiful and do recommend.
Riding the Skunk Train was one of the highlights of our trip! 🚂🌲 We learned so much about the history of the train and Fort Bragg as it maneuvered through the stunning redwoods. The stop at Glenn Blair Junction was perfect for a peaceful hike surrounded by nature. The entire experience was nostalgic, fun, and educational. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore Fort Bragg in a unique way.
