People are easy to work with. Location is the best. Free pools, lawn service, and maintenace.... although sometimes it takes a long time and is cheaply fixed. You just have to call again and wait. But can't beat the location. Haven't heard great things about moving out... But hoping it goes smoothly!
We live in Indianhead. The house isn't the worst we've lived in since my husband joined, it is by far the most expensive for what it is. We pay the full BAH ($1320ish) but the people who moved in after us are only paying partial BAH. The back fence planks are constantly falling off, the garbage disposal hardly ever works, and the toilets tend to only work when they want to. The house isn't worth what we pay and it's literally falling apart. It takes maintainence months to come out to fix an issue, if they even show up at all... read more
There are pros and cons like with any place that you live. For the BAH we pay as an E6 we could afford a 5 bedroom house off post and have money left over even after utilities. We also were blindsided when they changed our housing to officers and now there really aren't any older elementary kids for my son to play with like when more enlisted families lived here. Moved in June and havent had any issues. Took a while to get house but overall pleased.
Love the convince living on post gives us. Close to my husbands work.
I wish the McGraw village pool was taken better care of. Seems it's always closed for 1 reason or another. I've never really had any problems but I do wish the homes were built better. We do appreciate the little parties thrown every so often. My son always had a blast.
