Update - We took our kitty back in because it seemed like she wasn't getting better with the new medication she was prescribed by Dr. Lawler. Our appointment was on a Saturday at 1:30pm but we were not seen until 3pm because they were very busy - which has never happened on any of our previous visits. We saw Dr. Miller this time. Dr. Miller quickly realized that our kitty was misdiagnosed and that she actually had FIP, which is unfortunately fatal for kittens that exhibit "wet" symptoms (fluid in their stomachs). Dr. Miller... read more
We had such a good experience there. The staff and the doctor where really nice and helpful. Our dog felt really really comfortable there. Also when we mentioned that we are not sure that we could get all the medicine for our puppy ( because it's crazy expensive) they worked something out for us. I'm really happy with everything.
Overall this place is pretty great. While I can understand the comments of some of the other reviewers like up-selling, I would have to kindly disagree. Generally the things they are trying to get someone to buy are things your pet would benefit from having. My experience here started because I was fostering a dog for a rescue which I decided to adopt (yay). I was taking her to get spayed under the low cost program for the rescue. It cost $60 for the spay and I opted to pay $10 to get her five days of Tramadol. The spay wa... read more
Went there today because my dog had severe diarrhea. Waited 30 plus minutes past my appointment time just to be put in an exam room. Mind you my dog has diarrhea this whole time so I had to keep going in and out of the building and across the street since they have no area for pets to potty (kind of weird considering its a vet). Finally got an exam room and waited another 20-30 minutes for someone to come in. All in all I was there over 2 hours and only had less then 10 minutes of actual "conversation" with the vet tech and ... read more
I have been going to Tigard Animal Hospital for years, and every single experience has been amazing. I live across town from them, and they are still the only vet I would trust with my pets. When I was 12, I was gifted a Manx kitten. I had left him with my mom until I could afford to take care of him. My elderly kitty soul mate, Harry, had developed an abscessed tooth and was not eating or drinking. I could tell how much pain he was in, but being broke I didn't have a regular vet. In price checking because I was very ... read more
This morning, my daughter informed me that my 8-year old kitty (her name is CC, which stands for "Crazy Cat" or "Cantankerous Cat," depending her mood) had made about 20 trips to the cat box last night. I took her (CC, not my daughter) outside and watched her try to urinate - twice - but nothing came out. Some quick Googling revealed this could be a life-threatening emergency, and Tigard Animal Hospital was the closest facility to our house. I called, and the tech said the cat should be brought in right away. Bracing myself ... read more
We had a semi-emergency today with my pride and joy baby girl(a yorkie) and while I was super nervous to take her anywhere but her usual vet who was familiar with her condition, TAH was very close and at the advice of Tualatin Emergency Vet we went there, they took her straight back to the Dr to assess the urgency, and then they came to get me for her full exam and history, obviously we didnt plan this and didnt have an appointment but they were great about getting us right in and Dr. Parker was very thorough in making sure ... read more
We have owned many different kinds of animals and have endured many vet offices. it is rare to find a place so involved in the wellness of your pet. These people actually care! One night we had an emergency with our 5 month old boxer/lab getting into my omeprazole, foil and all! I spoke with the doctor right there over the phone, she was more than helpful and kind! After that we were looking for a vet to take him to, for his rabies vaccine and what better place to go than here, we already had amazing service! We went in on S... read more
I started going to Tigard Animal Hospital years ago. I had to have a German Shepherd put down. I have never encountered such compassion as I received here. They could have tried to keep her alive with expensive (out of my league) treatments that would have just prolonged her agony, but were very up-front with me about what would happen. When it was time I brought her in, and the Vet Tech and I held each other and cried after she passed. I now have a new Shepherd, and we have been together for 6 years. I would not drea... read more
