Go. Here. Travis Country is amazing. I have been continually impressed by their attentiveness and concern for every pet. I took my cat there numerous times while I lived in Austin. I was recently relocated to NYC and saw Dr. Murphree before I left. My cat had a small growth on his ear and she recommended I get it looked at in NYC if it didn't go away. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Dr. Buys. She is calm, kind, patient, knowledgeable, and easy to get information from in order to understand how best to provide follow-up care for your pet. I think the ability of a veterinarian to communicate clearly, patiently and completely with the pet's owner is the key to making sure the owner will know how to care for the pet once home (and to relieve the emotional stress from having a sick pet you otherwise don't know how to help). My puppy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car. We had just moved to Houston but had been to Travis Country for our previous pet needs. We decided to make the 3 hour drive to have the surgery done at Travis Country. Dr. Clinton did an amazing job. My pup is healing much quicker than expected. Our vet here has commented on what a great job he did based on the x-rays. Dr. Clinton continues to follow up with us to make sure all is well. They took such incredibly good care of my dog from the time I brought her in for her first check up to the time I lost her to lymphoma. I took her to Dr. Murphree who was always patient and took the time to explain whatever I didn't understand. The office staff and vet techs are also incredibly caring and knowledgable as well. I had an emergency and had to go out of state-I boarded her there, not knowing how long I'd be gone but they were very flexible and worked with me. We took one of our dogs here this morning and it was great. We have been to other vet offices in the area and they seemed to push unnecessary procedures to run up the bill. That was completely not the case here at Travis Country, Dr. Murphee told us that there were multiple causes for what our dog was going through and that we can take multiple steps to treat it. Dr. Murphee seemed to genuinely care about the health of our pet rather than trying to run up the bill. Thank you guys so much!

I have been going to TC for over 10 years. Although the vets have changed over the years, I have always felt like I was receiving honest advice. The vets are practical and not pushy. Some of the vets are old school (which I like) - they're not going to try and oversell you on things your dog doesn't need. Dr. Buys is fantastic. She has a great demeanor. I was recommended this place by a 24hr vet hospital. My cat had been sick w/ diarrhea non stop and vomiting. Well last Tuesday and Wednesday his vomiting got worse. Every time he'd take a drink of water he'd puke. So we took him here. First off the staff was very nice, informative, and understanding. I have gone to this place off and on for my dogs for about four years. They are super convenient to me and that's why I stuck with them. I liked Dr. Buys a lot but got a different vet the most recent time and she was less than sympathetic about my much older dog (I had an almost 15 year old dog on her last legs and she suggested surgery... a better vet that I found later wisely just put her on steroids).
