My husband and I recently added an 8 week old Toller to our family. After a few weeks he started having seizures, and we were completely at a loss to help him. When we called our current vet for an emergency appointment they never responded to our call, so we brought him to Travis Country. The whole staff was so helpful, they did everything they could to make our little guy comfortable and to find a correct diagnosis. Super friendly docs and staff! I love the boarding service - affordable and convenient.
We had to put our beloved cat down this weekend and were dreading finding a place with availability on a Saturday. After calling, we had an appointment a few hours out. The staff helped us through this difficult process and made our kitty comfortable while she passed away. The rates we were charged for euthanasia and communal cremation were very reasonable. This was my first experience with this veterinary hospital and I would definitely consider bringing my animals here in the future.
This review is long overdue. My two dogs have been patients of Dr. Buys and co. since 2009. The docs and staff are always caring and professional. We're always told about our options re. treatment, and conservative (and correspondingly less expensive) treatment is always offered before more aggressive and expensive treatments. They cured our rescue dog who had heartworms when we adopted her and worked with us on the treatment price. Corky (and staff) has looked after my dogs and cat for 14 years. Through their lives and their deaths and the new arrivals. My pets seem to have crazy problems and each time they are treated with respect and caring and kindess. My pets aren't ever afraid there and we're always (me too!) treated like family. I am so thankful for this veterinary hospital. We actually went here four years ago to get a 2nd opinion re: our Weimaraner who at the time had a disk problem in his back. We think so much of the doctors and staff here that ever since then Travis Country has been our primary Vet. Several years later, our Weim (7 years old) tore his ACL playing ball. Best Vet in Austin!!!! I have taking my dogs to Travis Country Vet for 10 years now, for not only regular exams but also to board when I travel and hands down they are the best in town. I moved about 20 miles from there location about 5 years ago and so I thiought I should find a vet closer to my home which I did. In fact, I found and tried several only to be very dissappointment. This is THE place to take your pets. We have been trying out different vets in Austin for the 4 years we have lived here and I haven't found a better one! The staff is compassionate and knowledgeable. I never feel pressured to do unnecessary and expensive tests as I have at other vets because here its about the pets, not the how high they can get your bill.
