The hose that was supplied is a disaster. Because it’s a modular hose there are many areas for air to get in the line when under pressure by the suction. Zodiac claims there vacuums to work under low pressure and variable speed pumps... from our experience this is false advertising, this thing needs enormous amounts of pressure to just move across the pool. To climb walls you have to turn off all the suction to the entire pool except the line the vacuum is on leaving you to taking the chance of dead locking your pump.... read more

Hard to setup water flow from MX8 to filter , to get correct rotations had to set skimmer flow to 100% , not acceptable for main drain flow

We've had it for 2 days and my husband said you can already tell that the pool looks much cleaner then the Hayward that we had.
If I attached it to my booster pump, it moved well and kicked up the debris on the bottom. If I attached it to suction, it wouldn’t move at all no matter what setting I put it on.

It has not been good. We have an open pool and leaves do fall into the pool. It takes little to clog the operation of the Zodiac. The suction portion and mechanics of the device are too small to effectively handle anything but very small debris. I spent way too much time cleaning the device so that it stays working. This is not easy as the heavy head needs to be brought out of the water (losing suction), open the head and then manually spinning the paddles to discover the culprit that is the problem. The Zodiac MX8 Elite looks nice, but doesn't perform very well operationally. Even the smallest leaf/grass causes the Zodiac to stop working. Yes, you can pull it out of the water and remove the leaf/grass from the sweeps at the bottom, but I've found that I was held hostage to the Zodiac. I wish I would have listened to one of the pool supply workers when he suggested that I look at a different model.
