Buying a house is a complicated process, but Better uses amazing technology and great people to remove as much complexity as possible for the buyer. Just getting a fully underwritten mortgage approved can take a long time, but it was a surprisingly smooth process and I could at any time look at the Better dashboard to see where we were in the process, steps completed and open action items (plus who owned the action). Best team ever. Very clear process. So swift and helpful in responses. Appraisal came very fast. We were able to close right on time with no delay, while we had a tight schedule.I do recommend this team to everyone.

Better.com portal provides a transparent way to select rates and helps you focus on tasks that need attention. The home advisors are very informed, friendly, and responsive. I would definitely recommend Better and would consider it for future loans.

It was an easy process with Better, my bank was more of an issue. All in all though the people at Better mortgage talked you through every step and were sympathetic when things became difficult with the stress of trying to get statements from a bank that were slow balling everything. Once you get through all that the payout is quick and easy. I recommend Better mortgage to anyone wanting to refinance or buy a new home.

They sold me on doing a hard credit pull and sent me a pre-approval letter, then told me that they could not offer me a loan because of a ghost collections item that does not show up on any of my 3 credit reports. I have no idea where they get their information from, but it isn't accurate. They claimed that the collections creditor was ***************** who I am currently in great standing with, and when I asked for the date of the collections item they said **** (20 years ago).

If I could leave zero stars I would. How people have had a good experience with this company is beyond me. Throughout this entire process we were lead to believe that we had everything we needed to go through the with mortgage, paperwork, money, etc. A week an half before closing we were told that we did not have sufficient funds for closing. Thankfully we have wonderful family who were able to gift us money to close. We then asked our loan officers if we were good, did we need any more money or paperwork. We were told we we... read more

We refinanced with Better.com last year. The experience itself was quick and seemed to go smoothly. What we did not realize was that Better did not include the Windstorm policy that was clearly in our Escrow wth our previous mortgager. We have refinanced a couple of times before and this has never been an issue. Better chose not to request the information from us and when the mortgage was sold to Chase it no longer had a Windstorm policy, which in Louisiana is necessary because of hurricanes.
