The only reason to choose Coastal kids is that it has multiple locations that can cover a wide area of clients. Besides that, nothing particularly good about this place. Their patient portal is a joke. Every time I requested an appointment via the portal, I always got a phone call back telling me the chosen time slot was not available. EVERY SINGLE TIME! What a shame. My whole family( cousins included) have been patients of dr a below it's for 25 some odd years. Back when it was one office in Newport Beach. The corporate greed and lack of care has officially taken hold here. Multiple offices, revolving doors with staff and doctors, obviously unhappy staff that can care less about their jobs or their patients. I should have known better then to continue as a patient. We have been coming here for years for my son's yearly physical. However, when I called this time I told them he needs his physical and when we are there he needs to get his sports form filled out as well. They did everything they would do in a physical weight, height, vision, hearing, blood pressure , spoke to him how he felt, checked his posture etc. Received a bill in the mail for $100.70 and was told this was not a physical and charged us for an office visit. Not only does this medical office ignore their phone calls and they never answer the phone, you can never get an appointment with Doctor Abelowitz it's always his brand new straight out of college doctors they try to stick your child with for an appointment. This office just sees you as a number not a patient. They don't even know your name, they don't even know your child. You are just a paycheck to them. Find yourselves a doctor who cares and a smaller profession office!

After being with this office for 3 years and giving them countless opportunities, and a terrible visit with Dr. Inbar today- we're done. I had the best initial consultation with Dr. Baron when we weee pregnant with our first. She was warm and friendly and truthfully always was with our interactions. What changed was the immediate shoving vaccines down our throats. We did a delayed schedule and they were okay with it to a point and then said they would no longer see my son. I took my two children to this practice for four years. The care was great, and they knew who we were, etc. When they sold the practice to CHOC, and essentially became CHOC employees, the caring ended and the drive for money became number 1. These doctors are no longer independent providers but are now just part of huge corporation whose sole goal is make as much money as the can. Thanks, CHOC, for messing up what was once a great practice.

I have to say, today was a really bad experience. I've brought my kids in here since they were born for 6 1/2 years. Today I brought my daughter in for an ear infection. I check in and they say the need $30, my copay is $10. I question why it was $30, they said, oh I'll check it, oh it's $10- so where did that $30 come from? Wait to see Dr Quirshadi (sp?) for the first time, very rushed, but either way, confirmed ear infection and to send in antibiotics. Sent to a pharmacy that we have gone to before but was closed today so ... read more

I had a bad experience with the male nurse in the Newport Beach office. When he injected the vaccine into my daughter's arm - most of the medication spilled out. And when she picked a Spiderman sticker - he commented - why are picking a spiderman sticker - that's for boys...... really !!! who is he to comment on what my daughter can or cannot like...... so ridiculous

Honestly inhave given this drs office so many chances... they are THE WORST! Do not expect to get a call if you have questions and sick child. They don't know what follow up means. Wait times are HORRENDOUS. The list goes on and on. The only dr that was amazing there was Dr Pertz and she's gone now. I highly DO NOT recommend this place.
