The reason for 3 stars is because of the front office staff and the somewhat ridiculous charges. Our doctor, Dr. Steven Abelowtiz, is a wonderful doctor and we absolutely love him. However, the front office staff is less than friendly and boarders on unprofessional at times. You can hear them talking about their weekends, their friends, and sometimes other the parents of patients. Very odd. Our 3 1/2 year old son and 2 year old daughter have been under the care of Dr. Abelowitz since birth. My husband and I both interviewed Dr. Abelowitz prior to choosing a pediatrician before our son was born in 2008. We were both impressed with his caring attitude and wonderful bedside manner. Almost 4 years later, we are very happy with the excellent care Dr. Abelowitz has given our children. Dr. Abelowitz has been great to work with. As a new mom, I come in with a list of questions and Dr. Abelowitz takes the time to answer every one of them and puts me at ease as you explains his answers to me. I opted to spread out my son's vaccinations and Dr. Abelowitz was supportive with my decision and we agreed on an alternative schedule I am very pleased with. I am very happy with our decision to have Dr. Abelowitz at Coastal Kids to be our provider to our little one.

After 16 years of bringing our daughters here they will not send their records to our new Dr without a processing fee. It's not like we went to a local Dr. we moved across the country. Terrible!!

Coastal kids was purchased by private equity or some financial firm recently and service has dropped off. We left. The pediatricians are wonderful, but good luck getting an appointment. Look somewhere else.

I would also like to add to their terrible medical care and extremely mediocre MD staff they charge you 20 dollars for a one time record transfer. WHAT A JOKE- I already despised them and that really was a great treat on the way out. I'd also like to mention like 1/2 their doctors in newport left or already left. BYE coastal kids, you are the worst of Private Equity bought health care and I hope that people do case studies on what went wrong with this failure of a practice.

I have no words to explain how awful my experience was! You can't to anyone live. It took a week to get a response to my voicemail. I sent 3 voicemails and 2 emails about my upcoming appointment with ZERO response. I couldn't even imagine if he was my cardiologist and I needed to get hold of him. I have never seen this poor quality of care in my life

attention to detail is what you expect from your medical provider, so I suggest to keep looking. It's nice and convenient that they have so many locations but when they accidentally prescribe the wrong dosage to your young child, you will think again. it has happened 4 times, that is just to my son. What about all the other children that they are misprescribing? For example: they prescribed him eardrops when he had pink eye. Prescribed him antibiotics with a dosage of 13ml when it should have been 7ml. better believe I'... read more
