When your child is sick, prepare to wait 20+ minutes on hold just to get someone from the office to pick up the line. This happens every time. Once you get to a practitioner or doctor, they are great. The office needs a new manager, more staff, and a keen awareness that these are sick kids! There is no reason for this at a pediatric office, period.

They actually do not care about your child do not go here! They also lie to you they'll give you a form that says you have up until a year to get their mandatory shots... but then kick you out 6 months before their deadline when your child needs urgent medical attention.

When our family first started seeing our pediatrician a few years ago, this office was completely different. We are so disappointed in how rude and disrespectful the staff is at this location. We have been calling to schedule an appointment because my 2 month is sick and needs to see a doctor, but the same person who answered, Jessica, has not been helpful. What a shame. I have been bringing my 2 kids here but I will have to find another office. The front staff are rude and give incorrect information. I called during the week to book an appointment for my baby for a weekend visit. They told me I have to call on the weekend to book the same day appointment. Then I called on the weekend and after staying on the line forever the receptionist said they can't see my son and they don't do vaccinations on the weekends. Probably one of the worst offices we've been to, they used to do a good job but as of the last year it has gone down hill significantly. Their team is always rude when you call, their doctors quit left and right and they take weeks to get referrals to other specialists, they have no urgency to help your kids at all. Highly recommend staying away from this place

It's been a long time coming. It's difficult to get an appointment. You have to plan months out. We had an appointment today with Dr. Embar but we arrived at 2:32. Because my son's bus was late. I called the office at 1:42 at 2:02. No answer after five ten minutes. When I arrived they said I was thirty minutes late and Dr. embar would not see me despite my appointment being at 2 and 2:15. I wouldn't recommend this office I have dealt with issues here for a few years but never to the point where I didn't trust the providers until now. I put in a call for my son asked the on call Dr to review his chart he has a history and she said was expect when I got more into the history she goes what's his name so clearly she lied and looked when she had to look.... fast fwd to her telling me he didn't need to go to the er unless his fever got over 105!!! Coastal kids has SEVERELY gone down hill... I am absolutely done with this place! NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE!! There have been over 4 times now that I have called on different occasions and no one can ever answer a phone. I waited for over an hour two times, put a call back a separate time and still no response or call! The front desk is a joke and can never help with any questions. There is NO way to get ahold of them. I waited 40 minutes and finally called the Irvine office to connect me with the Newport Office. They are not set up for the giant group of offices they have opened. I even tried to do a "tele-doc" meeting using their "Teledoc" doctors. Not one, out of seven different doctors I attempted to reach, was online. Every one of them stated they were offline. This is not a great choice for your kids. BTW, we've never even seen a doctor in our visits. Ever.
