I got there a few minutes early for my appointment. Stood there awkwardly at the counter for 10 minutes before being acknowledged as actually not being invisible. I have worked in service for 10+ years. What I do is at least make eye contact (SMILE), and even if you are super busy, say something like "Hi, welcome-we will be with you in just a moment-("help yourself to water or coffee"-maybe don't keep the wine you aren't offering certain people out of the sightline of the folks you aren't offering it to) My stylist came out... read more

I've been going to Gene Juarez 20+ years and lately I've really had to review my charges. The last color I had done was changed from a baliage to a foil at artists discretion which is fine as I totally trust her (Elle, she is the best!) but I was charged for a baliage (I did call and they credited me back). $80 for the worst haircut I've ever had. I hate to call someone out, but if the salon is reading this they may want to know who it was. Frances showed up 20 minutes late (I would've been okay with this if the haircut was good) and sped through my entire appointment, hardly spending any time cutting or shaping my hair. I was at the Gene Juarez Salon yesterday in Southcenter Mall. I was scheduled to get an all over base color, and a treatment, which would have been a relatively quick appointment. I had previously missed two scheduled appts back in March due to health issues and an extremely busy schedule, which were honests mistakes. I wanted to get a bleach and tone done so I texted the number advertised and was told that they have to do a consultation for bleach and tones prior to making the appointment. Then wasn't offered a time to come in for a consultation and instead just told they were offered on a walk in basis. I showed up early in the morning for a consultation and was told that all the colorists were busy and the next available time for a consultation would be an hour and fifteen minutes after I had arrived. Gene Juarez has a service guarantee. One should not have to pay more than once for a service. If it is bad and they cannot fix then they should refund. Too many people are paying when they should be suing.. I had more than a few horrible experiences at gene Juarez with the so called master colorist. They turned my hair orange from chocolate brown. Horrendous attitudes!! Entitled and think you should pay for poor service!!! Top down poor customer service!!

I wish I didn't have to post a negative review but my haircut has turned out to be absolutely horrible. My appt was on Monday and I've washed and styled my hair a few different ways and methods and I cannot get over how bad the haircut is. I've tried to keep an open mind and be flexible but I truly hate my hair now. I scheduled with Whitney. She was quiet and reserved so I mostly took that as concentration.
