Last week I took my dog Fiona to Dr. Bonnie Brown for the appointment I had long dreaded - she was at the end of the road after almost fifteen years. Dr. Brown had taken impeccable care of her for her whole life. Bonnie Brown, even in this most difficult circumstance, was not only as exceptionally competent and professional as we have always known her to be, but also caring and kind to both my dog and to me. Updating my review, since I've now been to Gotham several times, and can happily stand by my five stars. We took our 13-year old pug for a check up, and after getting back the blood and urine test results, Dr. Etter told us that her kidney values were elevated and there were a lot of white blood cells and bacteria in the urine. He walked us through options of what we could choose to do next, and we agreed that we wanted to get a sonogram to see what the kidney structure was like. I have mixed feelings about this Veterinary clinic due to different experiences with different vets there for my 2 cats. On the same day, at 9 in the morning, I took my 2 cats to this vet office, one for a dental cleaning (my female), and one for just annual shots (my male). Patricia (Dental Care Dr) was EXCELLENT, attentive, professional AND nice, which unfortunately is hard to find nowadays amongst doctors and vets... Our experience here has been amazing. They deserve more than 5 stars. At the beginning we were a little nervous with all the testing that was needed for our little maltese dog, now we understand that all that was done was necessary in order to be able to help her. I have been going to Gotham Veterinary Center since it opened. Bonnie Brown has been my vet for all of my dogs for 14 years and is marvelous. She has expanded her practice and has added two wonderful veterinarians. I have had excellent experiences with both Dr. Sean Etter and Dr. Cristina Carbonell. Dr. Etter saw our PBGV David for a broken toe. He was very caring, smart and great with David. In my experience, vets are vets (unless they're bad vets, overpriced vets, or your pet has serious or chronic problems). Gotham Vets is full of vets and they have taken great care of my pup since I left Uptown Vets. But what was really nice was that, a few days before Christmas, the place that was going to be boarding my pup called to tell me that they required a 6-month bordetella. We got to know Gotham this year more closely than anyone would ever hope to get to know their vet. One of our cats had a major urinary blockage, which required emergency care at another vet. We called Gotham the next morning and transferred him there, since it was much cheaper to keep him for observation at Gotham vs. the emergency location. Dr. Kahn is wonderful. My crazy, not very friendly cat just melts in her arms. The care and service is superb at very reasonable rates.
this is the most amazing vet practice I have ever gone to in New York . my dog shanequa had a ulcerated eye, the care of both my dog and I was incredible. People who work there are so kind oh and their prices are reasonable for anywhere let alone nyc. thanks to everyone there for such devotion.
