Gotham has been fantastic! We see Dr. Ward and have been impressed by how caring and dedicated she is. Our dog has several medical conditions which Dr. Ward expertly diagnosed and treated and now our dog is happy and healthy again even though he will need to be on medication long term. Dr. Ward has been extremely good at communicating with us and always takes the time to discuss the issues fully and answer all our questions when she calls to give us results or address any concerns we have about our dog's health. We are extre... read more
I can't tell you how grateful I am to have brought my dog to this established location. I'm horrible with names but I think her name was Dr.Koch? She was sooooo amazing with my shiba inu and explained to me the things I need to look out for if my dog's surgery area gets infected. Mind you the surgery was done elsewhere, unfortunately. The staff was great, the administrator was so welcoming and the Vet just as honest as I like them. Don't hesitate to bring ur turbabies to them. They are AMAZING
They are fantastic. I recently took in my older cats for their first appointment in years and the staff (Dr. Carbonell and Patricia) took excellent care of them. They made a point of following up with any test results, calling me to remind me of appointments, and always remembering to cut the nails of my cats while they were there. I am handicapped and it is hard for me to catch my cats so one of the staff members actually came by my apartment early one morning to pick up my cat for a procedure. The dental care was excell... read more
I am so thankful for the love, care and support Gotham Veterinary Center has given my dog post back surgery! I have an adorable, smart and loveable bichon poodle mix puppy mill rescue. He has extensive orthopedic issues and had bilateral carpal valgus - Bilateral ulnar ostectomies in 2011. In September of 2013 he was suddenly paralyzed in his hind end and needed emergency neurosurgery to fix the herniated disc that was putting pressure on his spine. He has intervertebral disc disease. I was devastated. Three days after his ... read more
I switched to Gotham from a veterinarian much closer to my apt. The front desk services are great compare to many other places. Very patient for my questions and informative. I had two doctors for my cats and both were great! They are both very professional yet very caring. I will keep taking my pets to this hospital.
I have not gone back to Gotham Veterinary Clinic. Instead, I had a veterinarian who provides house calls and is experienced and reputable examine my 17 1/2 year old cat. Based on her last two blood tests, this vet -- unlike the vet at Gotham -- wants my cat on fluids three times a week (I had started her on two on my own). She introduced me to 250 ml lactated ringers solution while in the past I had only been using 1000 ml bags. She checked my technique for administering fluids as well. My cat is now running, playing, talkat... read more
My take is possibly a little different, since I'm in the dog care business myself. Over the 20 years our company has been providing dog boarding and dog walking services to Upper West Siders, we've been in and out of a lot of vet offices with our charges. Gotham Vets stands out in the welcome and respect they have accorded us. This is so appreciated! Also, recently, I've had to be in frequent touch with their doctors over the care of a client dog we are watching while her family is away. Her issue is not urgent, but i... read more
1. It's about $80 for a check-up and usually after meds and procedures if there's something wrong with my pet like a UTI, the bill runs me around $200+. 2. They do prioritize appointments vs. walk-ins so I never really have to wait a long time, maybe 20 minutes tops. 3. Staff including front desk are very pleasant. 4. Vets are caring, they don't rush you out, you can ask all the questions you want and can even follow-up via e-mail. 5. Parking is metered out front and in the avenues, on the streets it's free.
Been taking my dogs to Gotham for over 2 years now and the experience has always been wonderful. They do a great job at fitting me in for appointments even if they are last minute calls. Dr. Ward is amazing. My pup wasn't eating and he just looked awful and miserable in general, so I decided it was time for a trip to the vet. Turns out he got Giardia. Dr. Ward has a wonderful bedside manner, was gentle and kind to my dog, and listened carefully to all of my symptom descriptions (which of course was a long speech from a conc... read more
