Mediocre at best. Service staffed seemed to be young and inexperienced. The kids working the hostess station seemed disinterested and non engaged.

Wedge salad was excellent! Breaded tenderloin sandwich was very good. Chicken and noodles served over mashed potatoes should be renamed. There were very few noodles and when I asked the server, she said that’s how it always is and it’s more of a soup. What? Not described that way. I wouldn’t order them again.

Had a reservation for 4 people. We were sat near the kitchen at a table that was so close to the people next to us we could have eaten off their plates. Staff and customers had to walk sideways behind our chairs to service the customers( knocking into us and knocking our jackets to the floor). Waitress was helpful with the menu, but not overly attentive. Food portions were decent. Green beans were extremely overcooked and brown. French onion soup was lack luster for the $9 it cost. Maybe just an off night.

I usually love eating here, and I come all the time. Today I sat down and waited for 10 minutes for my waiter to come and talk to us. We ordered our drinks and thankfully they came out fairly quick. After reviving our drinks we proceeded to waited 20-25 minutes for our server to come talk to us again and get our food order. I understand that on a Saturday night you will wait a little, and servers get busy. I made a reservation weeks before and we had a guest with a food allergy. The restaurant said they would be fine to accommodate and then when it came time to order they refused. Food allergies aren’t a new thing and it was unfortunate we tried to plan ahead and it still was dismissed.

We had a 5:30 reservation and upon arrival there were plenty of open spaces but they crowded five of us into a 4-person booth. We asked to be moved but were told NO as they had other reservations for those tables. The place was half full. Im only 5’5” with short legs, and I spent the evening kicking my husband as there was no place for my legs to go as I was right on top of him at a 90 degree angle. Very disappointing. We visited Grindstone on the Monon on Saturday, July 20 at 2pm with a party of 6. The server spilled a glass of coke on my husband and me and apologized. She then brought napkins and cloths to dry up the mess, but no manager came to see what the issue was and no effort was made to compensate for us having wet clothing while eating our meal.
