I worked with Ralph, the owner. They installed prepainted Hardiplank siding. One of the things that impressed me was how great the communication and responsiveness was. His crew was really good in terms of craftsmenship and professionalism (my compliments to Ricardo and Marco). They went out of their way to help us with everything, including choice of materials, colors, and the quality of their work was top notch!! I would absolutely use them in the future.
Overall it went very well. The crew was here when they said they would be, they did a professional job and cleaned up the debris from the job every day. The crew foreman answered any questions we had and communicated their schedule with us so we always knew what to expect. There was a delay in the timing of the job due to a materials issue, but that was communicated to us directly. Our house is a 100 year old Victorian in the North Mt. Tabor area. It is a 2-story with gables and has a dormer with 3 windows. It had been sided back in the 1940?s with a fibrous composite material that was in pretty rough shape. We got quite a few bids to replace the siding with hardi-plank siding and install new windows throughout the house. Roger arrived on time and was very pleasant and professional. He knew his products very well, and gave me a lot of useful information about the energy efficiency rebate programs that were available. I felt confident that Lifetime would correctly handle the tricky procedures that would be required for the Energy Trust rebate in particular. The work was done well, but we felt like the owner misrepresented the work that was going to be done. At the end of the job when we asked why certain things weren't going to be done there was a bit of a problem. There were some finish up issues that he wasn't going to take care of, but then ultimately did. At best I think he over sold and potentially flat out lied to us. To say that I was flabbergasted to get this report is a mild understatement. From the beginning till the end this job went about as smoothly as any I've ever done. I was at the work site daily talking to the home owners getting their paint color choices and going over any other questions that they had. I liked everything about them. Their sales and marketing rep was very congenial and nice. He was easy to talk to and also had an older home like me so he understood the details that would go into recreating the detail of the original window to match everything else in the house. The different crews were efficient with an appreciated attention to detail. The new windows made a dramatic improvement. We got a "big bang for our buck". They took years off our little ol' cottage.
