I have been coming to Madison Reed for years. Last time I came, the color didn't turn out well. I contacted the company and got no response. When I came back to the salon, I told the colorist what happened. She got really defensive and tried to blame me. I told her I wasn't asking for anything for free, and that I had never complained before. I was just giving feedback. I am no longer a customer.

Accidentally clicked on membership and cancelled within two minutes. My credit card was charged and the charges are still there 3 days later. It is very difficult to speak to a live person and their chat is with a bot. Customer service is non- existent.

I went to the Plano Madison Reed Color bar for the second time and I will never go back to this location. The first time I went there in May of 2024, the lady who colored my hair listened to me and provided the color I wanted. However, my second visit which was on March 15,2025 was not a pleasant visit. The lady who got the color for my colorist did not listen to me. I showed her a picture of my hair from May 2024 and said I want the exact color. It was almost black and my natural color. Tried to purchase hair color. One of the stylists wouldn't sell me hair dye unless I came in to get color matched and have her do my hair. The reason I am trying to buy my own hair color is because I can't afford to get my hair done professionally.

It's always chaotic but today was particularly bad. The colorists were yelling across the salon (discussing lunch plans, singing). There is clearly no one "in charge". I had to look for a clean brush, wet towels all around. I was not the only client that was bothered by the unprofessional behavior. I left with wet hair I was so ready to get out of there.

Do not go here! Went for an overall color. I told the colorist my hair was very fine and fragile and chemical sensitive before the service. I thought I was in the hands of experts. She totally ignored my concerns and left the dye on for 40 minutes. All the while talking about how great she was and wanted me to post a good review of her. DO NOT GO HERE FOR A BALAYAGE. Just writing this to save others hair. I went today to get a balayage for the first time in about a year. I showed her the picture attached and she told me we could not go that bright today which was fine. I at least expected a pretty color and the highlights to be in the correct spots. This is NOT the place to go if you want highlights or if you're a blonde. I took my daughter in as her highlights had grown out. She wanted to go back to her natural color (light ash brown - no red at all in her natural color nor in her highlights) with just a few highlights so there would be less up keep to do over the summer while home from college.
