This is an update to a response received from the manager of Maggies. Soon after I left my review/disappointment in Maggies I heard from the Manager, Ray. He apologized for the bad dining experience and stated a Gift Card would be issued. My Mother lives in Southbury and she was one of the lunch guests that day and as I was not going to go out of my way to revisit - I suggested he send the g/c to her IN Southbury. I agree is a hit or miss place,went today for lunch . Ordered one of the few things I have had good luck with in the past few visits. I didn't read what was in it since I had it before. They have changed what was in it and it wasn't a good change. Instead of black beans it has chick peas that were hard and it was supposed To have candied pecans. if they were in it they were so small chopped, I couldn't find them. when I mentioned the change and not liking it, 2 bites into it, that was the end of service for us. Honestly, I didn't expect much from Maggie's. It's another chain that started off strong when it first opened, and over the years, has pretty much become another chain with mediocre food. My visit here the other day was much worse than I had anticipated. Writer Friend and I decided to meet up for lunch. Everything about out meal was mediocre. The wifi didn't work and we couldn't get anyone to care about it. The waitress brought out stale, cold breadsticks, and could not be bothered to remember anything we asked for. The meals were all less than average, expect for my wife's squash soup which she enjoyed. I will try not to be back.
Have a mild dairy alergy. Ordered burger no cheese. Came with cheese. Nobody checked on us till we were done eating. When I said there was cheese on burger their response was "it shouldn't have" yeah no shit.
Maggie Mcfly is ok, some of the food is amazing and some is not. We live close by so why not give a try? The food we ordered took forever just for 2 people. we wasted 5 minutes waiting for our drinks and 18 minutes for our food. Our waitress was ok at first but took socializing with other employees to another level. we tried flagging him over while He was talking still ... He simply brushed it off ( he did look at us) and continued what he was doing. Not amazed.
Just left this place without even eating . Was sitting down for over 10 minutes without being greeted by a server...
If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would. Tried one more time this week for lunch right after noon. No one to greet us party of two. Was seated at a table that had not been cleaned water was left standing on table and on seats. When asked to clean we waited and host ragged off table. While waiting for service, noticed water rings sticky all around, table was not clean. Curious as to cleanliness started looking around, silverware had food particles stuck to it.
