I do not usually post any reviews but I had to. I am having a terrible experience at the Washington, D.C. (K st) location and NOBODY should shop something so special and pricy at Mervis.I fixed an eternity ring but it broke again and I lost a diamond in 4 months. The 'manager' I dealt with left the company mysteriously, what they say change, and just not trustworthy. I feel they do crappy job intentionally so customers keep coming back for repairs.

It is impossible to live in the DMV without hearing about Mervis Diamond Importers. I must admit I was a wee bit leery at my first visit to their showroom in Tysons corner. My partner and I decided to visit after we attended a wedding expo in VA were we were treated a little like a curious oddity. So many vendors seemed excited to work with a gay couple. This was one of my least favorite visits while ring shopping. We were greeted when he arrived as we made an appointment and still had to wait for 20 minutes to get customer service. They did not have a big ring selection. Don't let that line, "everything is top of the line," fool you. Just because it's luxury doesn't make it beautiful. I was torn on how many stars to give as I will sum up my review this way.. they have a great selection, and products I have purchased are beautiful, but they have some shady business practices. I have brought my ring from Mervis in April 2016. Everything about the experience was pleasant and non-stressing. They had a large selection, and spent several sessions with me in helping me decide the perfect ring, and most of all with no pressure, allowing me to research other sellers as well. I finally purchased the ring and my fiancee loves it. After about 3 months, one of the prongs holding the diamonds was damaged. I wasn't sure where to go to go ring shopping - a friend told me about Mervis and I only knew them from the radio commercials. Well I ended up getting both the engagement ring and bands there. Jon was nice and professional and more importantly honest about what I could get within my budget. We ended up beating my budget for the engagement ring so I was able to spend a little more on my fiancé's wedding band. Win-Win. This was a disappointing visit, considering all of the advertisements on the radio and even a couple friends having amazing experiences. First off, my boyfriend and my family RSVP'd for the Tacori event. We decided to go together to get an idea of what kind of ring I wanted and to get a better grasp as far as styles and pricing. I have had my eyes on a Verragio ring for a few years now. Mervis was the only place in the area that actually carried them. After reading some reviews I was incredibly anxious to go in, I thought these people might judge us for being too young to purchase such a ring. But we were welcomed as soon as we walked in and Dion Girton was the consultant who helped us. He was outstanding! He was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. Monica is a genuine professional and brought up several issues which hadn't even crossed my mind during the search for engagement rings. Highly recommended.
