Buy another printer. When any of the color ink cartridges run out, the printer will not print anything, even if you have a full cartridge of black ink. Beyond frustrating.
Ink management sucks I don't use the printer very often and I almost always print without color. The printer won't function if you don't have all the ink cartridges in and my color inks dry up over time (but quicker than you would think) or the printer uses them up when it cleans. It also won't print a document that doesn't contain color when a color cartridge needs replacing. Therefore, I have to keep purchasing ink that I never use. Poor Quality Do not buy this printer if you want something that will work more than a few months. It was fine initially but now says it is jammed (even though it isn't) every time I print. The print quality, despite following the troubleshooting guide, is so poor that this printer is going to the trash and I will try a different brand.
Not Worth the Time Printed in nothing but B/W for years but somehow it was using yellow ink. When a single color cartridge runs out it will not print. Period. It was usable with generic third party cartridges until it updated itself without my permission. Now it's a very large scanner only. Between this and the frequency that the print heads clog i've spent more time babying this thing than printing reports.
Garbage printer! Jams constantly, the worst printer I've ever owned by far!
Don't buy it for the wi-fi capabilities. Direct connect to your PC, Laptop or network switch only I have a fast, quality, internet connection/network for my home. I needed to update my printer because Epson shut down my existing printer with it's last software update (printer worked great - then 15 minutes later they said it was obsolete and shut it down completely). Don't buy Brother, their customer service is nonexistent. My printer failed after only a few months. OK, these things happen.... but, it happened in May and it's now October. The local computer place that Brother had contracted to fix my printer called and said they couldn't get parts, they were sending it to regional. That was in late July, and Brother has refused to answer my emails since then. No communication, no warranty, no refund. So they basically stole $400 from me.
