Not worth the price I brought this printer nearly a year ago and it has been a constant disappointment. Half the time I try to print, I have to completely reboot the printer just to get it to work. It will automatically run some "update" in the middle of the night sometimes, which is very loud. I have only used the printer maybe 4 times and the first and ONLY attempt to print in color, the image came out with streaks in it. Don't buy this. Absolute garbage. Not accepting any after market cartridges'. Ink disappearing like magic. Waste of money.
STAY AWAY! Dead in 1 year and 9 months! It wasn’t a bad printer but the fact that it just died and will not turn back on is absolutely ridiculous! This was not a heavily used printer so I don’t understand why it died in its infancy. Tech support said I would have to take it to a dealer to be repaired at my own expense. So much for purchasing another Brother printer. BUYER BEWARE!!!
Don't buy this printer This printer has been very difficult since we bought it. Have to restart it almost every time i need to use. It wont let you use any other ink cartridge except their brand. I take that back...for a year or so it did let you use off brands but suddenly it won't work. If i could purchase a new printer I would definitely buy one that is refillable.
TL;DR- A scam to sell ink. AVOID All functions on this computer are work pretty well, actually. However, it will just decide on it's own it is time to buy new ink cartridges, even if they are 80% full, and will not print until you put new cartridges in. It bases this on time as well as use, so if you don't use the printer for long enough, it will decide the cartridges are unusable for no reason other than getting you to buy more. Infuriating.
Don’t waste your money on the extra insurance, they won’t help. Product used for business and is not worth the expense. The print quality is good, but I found out you can only use Brother ink. The printer does not like the odd company printer ink.
Worst printer ever Spent a butt ton of money on this crap. Wont ever connect or come out of deep sleep. Its the worst. Better off handwriting everything you need printed.
Will brick itself! Brother is a hostage subscription service with ever changing costs to access This is really a chip reader. Brother has decided to go into the ink subscription business to allow access to your device, which is one business model, but they sure are not upfront and honest about it!
