Simply will NOT print! Bought this Brother MFC-J491DW "printer" in March 2020. I do very little printing, but need one from time to time, so bought on a recommendation from a friend. It has been the most frustrating thing I've bought in a while. Will NOT print from my brand new Windows 10 computer. Goes to the print que and just sits there. Has to be constantly reset This is the worst printer I have ever owned. Has to be reset every time I send a print order. Ran the fixit program but nothing improved. Print quality is fine, when it can be made to work.
Piece of G This printer is garbage. Throws Error code 50 every other day. 3 months old and a real piece of crap.
Doesn't Scan Without Ink It does it job and prints. However I have never had a printer that does not scan when there is no ink. It is designed for you to waste money and buy ink when you do not need it..
Complete scam and a rip-off. Never again I never print in color, yet magically I'm out of yellow toner. The machine then basically bricks itself until you buy new cartridge. Your can't even print black or grayscale even though the black toner is completely full. It won't even let me scan to my PC! F this company and their products. I thought HP was bad with their dirty tactics but at least I could print black and white if my color toner was out on my last HP printer!
Brother Not worth the headache This printer has been nothing but a headache. Tech support has been fin when you can get through, but the printer continues to not work for one reason or another. Not what I expected from the Brother Company
Awful Printer worked nice for a couple months then it kept running out of ink even when I wasn't printing anything. I NEVER used color ink for anything but it kept running out and it makes it a huge pain to print anything grayscale if any color is missing. Now 10 months in, the printer only prints half sheets and then stops suddenly. Tech support thus far has been useless.
QUIT WORKING AFTER TWO MONTHS I ordered this printer March 18 and now it has a bad print head. I ordered this printer so that I could work from home during the Covid restrictions. I haven't even used the printer every day and now it will not print correctly. I prints half black letters and numbers. You can not see anything on the page. The color blue prints but black will not.
