Maaaannn This printer and its cartridges are ridiculous! Finding the replacements is hard and expensive! Aftermarket ones work but isn't as compatible (but still works). It leaves a ? sign and wont tell you when the ink is low. The fax works fine and the wireless printing. The rating is solely due to the ink replacement.
Print head has gone bad already I had only had this printer since August 2019 and the printer had gone bad. It will not print with the black ink cartridge. I have tried a new one, and it is a Brother ink cartridges'. I have tried cleaning the print head and it work for a couple of times but then stopped again.
Consumes ink for no reason This thing consumes ink for no reason and then refuse to print anything if even one (barely used cartridge) is mysteriously empty, even though you never print color or even print anything for months. SO FRUSTRATING.
Won't print B&W if any color is out. Sucks. Like everyone else has said, it will not print black and white if any of your color inks are out. It's incredibly inconvenient and has cost me a lot of money in ink purchases. When it does print, it prints very well. However, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a printer.
Will not print if any ink cartridge is out. What a scam. Stay away, this product exists to shamelessly force you into buying more ink. 2nd terrible experience with Brother. Never buying another product from them again.
It doesn't work We have had this printer since March. It intermittently decides it just doesn't want to print. A recent Windows update caused it to stop working, the wind blows and it doesn't work (sarcasm.) It's ridiculous. A very frustrating purchase. Sadly, I don't have the energy to putting into this review all of the details of how maddening this printer has been for us, but suffice it to say that another option is a good way to go. Especially considering the price.
Don't Bother with this Brother! Brand-new, this printer jams with every print job. It takes a lot of toner and paper to finally get a single usable page. Two in a row never happens. Clearing the paper is difficult and not intuitive. The on-screen instructions do not tell the full story. In addition, I have never managed a single two-sided page. When attempting to pull paper back for second side, the machine mangles the paper terrible. All brother offers is a refurbished replacement. Stay away!
Worst printer ever Words cannot describe how truly terrible this printer is. Out of 100 Pages I'd say 95 of them Jam. I'm constantly having to pull the paper tray out and remove Jam paper., Reload the tray. Nothing is simple with this POS. I'd say occasionally when I remote print from my smartphone it works but most of the time I still have to walk over and unjam the paper.
Don't buy!!!! Print quality is good. If you run out of one color your done until you buy more ink. Can't print black using the three colors like a lot of other printers. If printing a batch in black and one of the colors gets low it stops and wants you replace the color so you have "Quality Print." If you do buy it stock up on ink because it goes quick
