Was great until it wasn't (RIP 2018-2021) I admit that we barely used this printer. Everything's on the server, but we need a dependable one. When we use it, it's because we desperately need it to do the job immediately. Seemed to do okay for almost exactly 3 years. Then one day cyan just stopped printing entirely. I thought that maybe it was clogged. I got a printhead cleaning kit and cleaned it successfully, only to find out that absolutely nothing was clogged. Ink disappearing??? I barely print. I only have this printer for when I really need to print, which is rarely. And very rarely in color. But my genuine Brother ink cartridges drain in their levels. I bought new cartridges, and a week later they're showing half full???? I didn't print anything, so where is the ink going? Totally upset about wasting money.
Save your time Horrible printing. Smears all over. Paper jam every time. And i just opened it. I read manual and tried troubleshooting tips. Paper jam now only happens everyother time. Not for a busy business
Envelopes do not print. I have encountered a major problem With the Brother MFCj-J5330DW. It Will not print envelopes. I suspect the Problem is caused because this printer Prints horizontally rather than vertically. The envelope printing word processors Can not accommodate this change, and The envelope prints sidewise. I hope that Brother will correct this problem In the near future. In the mean time, better Lug that heavy old typewriter up from the basement.
Don’t order. Not worth the hassle Have had less than a year. Just ran out of starter cartridges. Went to change them and the cyan won’t register. Unable to bypass at just print black won’t do any printing unless all cartridges are read. Stupid!
If you want color....look at another printer This printer started off fine and dandy....the cartridges are pricy but not bad quality. My BIGGEST issue is the CONSTANT need for it to have the printer heads be cleaned. By the time it’s all done and finally printing with no lines half you damn cartridge is out of ink. I’m at the point now (months/almost a year into it) where half of the cartridges don’t work and the printer heads for 2 of the colors NEVER get clean so you never get good color things. WiFi no longer Working ; scan quality issues The printer does print nice prints at both letter and tabloid size. It doesn't take a ton of ink and will work with off brand ink. I wish I would've paid attention before purchasing to realize, you need to switch the tray everytime you switch paper size. Ugh. Dual trays where are you??!!! The scan quality is not very good on mine. It looks grainy with each scan. Handwritten items (mostly what I scan) are the worst and you can only scan letter size.
