DO NOT BUY FOR A MAC The rating is entirely for those with Mac computers. The handful of prints that I've been able to get out of the printer are fine. However, I've had the same issue countless other Mac users have had (I should have read some of the review sites more carefully)- The Printer forgets the network every. single. time. hostile Limited weight for paper. Via tray, printing labels are iffy if it will auto-feed or not. SEVERAL issues w/ rear feed (used for labels, card stock etc.: 1) Sometimes have issues w/ machine detecting the paper. 2) Not reliable positioning of subject onto paper JUNKING quite a few pages of pre-cut labels (believe also due to #1 above). 3) feeder tabs dont really guide paper well = TILTED printing. 4) Sometimes paper shoots through w/ out printing (again #1?) Poor Color Print I've been using this printer for about two years. Black and white prints have been excellent during that time. Color print was just so-so for about the first year. After a year, color printing had horizontal streaks. I have performed the head cleaning routing at least 2-3 dozen times and they just do not clean. The printer has been virtually useless for color printing after one year of useage. I have always used Brother inks.
problems with copying as above.....when I attempt to copy from my computer, I get a black page......the screen on the prin ter keeps saying paper jam in rear none found
Glorified printer- Can't get scanner to work This is really just a glorified printer. I've spent hours and hours trying to download drivers to get the scanner to work. I've turned off Firewall, disabled security software, you name it. Save yourself some time and buy another brand of printer. Finding a customer support number was an odyssey, and I've never actually been able to reach someone on the phone. I've always had better luck with Epson, HP and even Dell.
Terrible Print Quality. Avoid! The print quality from this printer was really terrible. So amazingly washed out I thought it must have been a settings issue. I troubleshooted with the printer and driver settings to no avail. It has a particular issue handling colors in the red range. For mainly document printing it's fine, but for any sort of color printing I would avoid this model.
So easy to hook up… Not! I’d like to review my printer but I can’t seem to connect it to my computer. There’s no one available to help over the weekend so I just have to wait a few days And then maybe someone will be there to help me. So very frustrating
can't load scans directly to PC Printing works great and I can scan to a USB stick but I can't connect to the scanner from my PC (and using it's control panel the scanner can't find my PC). This worked fine in my previous Brother printer (though the WiFi was unreliable on it). Last time I buy a Brother printer. They can't seem to make everything work.
EASY TO SET UP & PRINTS GREAT I normally buy HP printers to go with my other HP products. I have owned 3, and the first of the 3 finally crapped out after several years. But I always felt I was getting ripped off on the HP ink cartridges. Even Sam's Club's prices hurt. Then I read HP has now made it harder to use other cartridges on their newest printers, and they were charging even higher prices for ink. So what the heck, try something different.
