Has to Be Defective I have owned Brother printers for seven or so years and have had great experiences with them, but this printer is not one of their good ones. After owning this printer for four months, and printing off about 50 to 70 pages weekly (and haven't even swapped out the print cartridges yet!), this printer refuses to print straight lines and reports paper jams after every print session, but there are no paper jams! Hoping to save on ink cost when self cleaning. I use this at home and print very little. I purchased this model to replace a previous Brother printer that suffered a voltage surge from a nearby lightning strike. Hoping the advertised ink cost is actually true as my previous model would use so much ink when self cleaning it’s heads.
Weak product Scanning function only works from desktop app. Keyboard functions do not work correctly. Cumbersome procedures... would not buy again.

Slow Scanning but OK for Compact Size Bought this because it was compact and have had good experience with Brother printers. Paper tray only holds around 50 sheets at a time and scanning speed is much slower that the HP I have at my other home. No ethernet input to connect to router. Wireless printing works fine from MacBooks, iPads and iPhones although the sheets tend to end up on the floor even with the delivery "extension" you can fold out. Cheap I have owned several printers primarily HP and Epson. Bought this from Home Depot about 1 year ago. First time buyer of this brand. First off, it is really cheaply made. Printer is slow and I have it hooked up direct to computer. You feel like you are going to break it every time you open the tray. Scan feature is very, very slow Most of the features of this printer are good. But I was stunned to watch and wait as a document was being scanned. i'm very disappointed with this printer.
OH NO, NOT AGAIN I go thru printers like other people go thru 6 packs. I bought this in June of 2018, and I'm just about ready to throw in the towel and do what I do 2 or three times a year, which is go buy yet another printer. Unreliable My printer failed after 13 months. Search google for "Scan unable AF" to see that others have had the problem and the only (real) fix is to exchange it with Brother, if in warranty.
