Sorry I Bought This Piece of Junk Purchased July 5, 2018 and died on October 25, 2018 after very light use. Printer prints blank pages! What a disappointment.

Do not buy for color printing We bought this printer for color printing. The description boasted ink efficiency and savings per print and is a trusted brand so we gave it a shot. Setup was easy and laid out step by step. Right out of the box the printer looked and felt high quality. That's about where the compliments stop. Why not exchange this J985DW for the J995DW? My J995DW works just fine and makes beautiful color prints.
Terrible printer for two reasons ... First, I have constant alignment issues (i.e. broken/uneven lines). It's not as dramatic with normal text or pics, but if anything being printed has solid lines (i.e. Excel, Word doc with bordered tables, music) there are lines and appear broken/uneven on the printout. I run the printer's alignment process and that works for a short time, then it's back to misaligned printouts. Worked well until it didn't. Loved it at first - the ink lasted a long time and the print quality was good (not great - it saves on ink by printing slightly lighter). However, I now hate this printer because it constantly gives an error message "unable to clean 50". It happens randomly and sometimes I could get it to go away by following the instructions, and sometimes by unplugging it for a few minutes. Huge Piece of Garbage I cannot complain about this printer enough. Whenever I replace the paper tray, there's an error that it cant find the tray. It's slow and clunky and the scanning software is crap too. Do not buy one of these if you are expecting a decent machine. Now I have to go out and spend more on an HP since at least I know they are reliable.

Not even close to 1,200 color pages Not even close to 1,200 color pages! Printing quality is mid but acceptable for my home business as well as homeschool printouts. Slow as molasses. I like the design and small size, wish printing quality was better and ink lasted longer. At least I'm not having connecting problems and printer malfunctions like my HP printers were all riddled with.

A Complete and Utter Scam. So I got one of these printers as a gift. At first it was amazing. It's a scam though. They manufacture the ink in these machines for literally cents the cartridge are just slightly more expense yet they sell them for tons of money. I literally took out my ink cartridge to look at it and put it back in and instead of showing that I still had ink the stupid thing without printing anything started to say "no ink" This makes me so frustrated. Too slow This printer is very slow, both in page processing and printing. Would never recommend this for an office printer. It might be ok for home printing where speed is unimportant. Also the paper tray is too small, it is constantly running out of paper … again not a good office printer
