My coonhound Ellie Mae somehow opened a bottle of Aleve and ate several. Luckily, I caught it quickly and rushed to her the hospital late on a Friday night. Absolutely felt from the initial emergency to the recovery Ellie had the best care and the staff all made me feel like she was receiving the best care. Happy it turned out okay - amazing place to take your animal for an emergency! Thank you Dr Boyle, Dr Wall and all the techs who gave Ellie the best treatment possible and gave her some love too :)

Business response:

Although we're sorry to hear that your Ellie Mae experienced an emergency situation, we're glad that you rushed her here immediately. We're relieved to know that everything turned out okay, and if you ever need anything else, please let our veterinary staff know. Thanks!

A year ago they saved our precious LAB, Neuman - emergency surgery for inverted stomach in the middle of the night. Usually dogs do not survive this. He is happy, healthy and we are blessed. Except for the expense - woof - it was a GREAT experience.

Business response:

Thank you for the update, Deb! We are so very pleased to know he is feeling happy and healthy again, and we hope you know that it was our honor and pleasure to be here for you.

It's very easy to take the health of our animals for granted. It's very frustrating and concerning when they can't communicate to you when there's something wrong. I took my cat to Mission MedVet after a serious prognosis from my regular vet (and terrible customer service/follow up/urgency) for answers. Dr. Robin Wall went above and beyond to find answers and to get my kitty better. I highly recommend Mission MedVet for all animals. This emergency care and facility is top notch.

Nobody wants to use an Emergency Vet, we don't want to see our pets so uncomfortable that there's no time to schedule them with their regular vets or have to wait until their regular vet is open which is exactly what happened to me. Upon coming home at 1:30am I had discovered that one of my dogs had broken out of his kennel and bit my other dog, he was bleeding and obviously in pain. I gave him some antibiotics and decided to see how he was in the morning, I had a sleepless night continuously checking on him, he was breathin... read more

Our 10 year old dog Riley began acting strangely in late February He had been treated at VCA Mission very successfully about two years previously for a mast cell tumor by Drs. Grigsby and Wilson. We chose to take Riley back to VCA Mission and were fortunate to be able to see Dr. Grigsby. An abdominal ultrasound revealed that Riley was hemorrhaging from his spleen. Dr. Grigsby thoroughly and compassionately explained the condition and the potential causes, including a significant chance the cause was cancer. We had the o... read more

Business response:

Wendy, our sincerest condolences go out to you about your beloved Riley. We're grateful that we could be there for you in your time of need and help make a difficult situation a little easier to bear. Your words about Dr. Wilson and Dr. Grigsby, in addition to the rest of our staff, are truly humbling, and if there's anything else you need, please let us know. Thank you for taking the time to write your extraordinary review.

A few days after I posted this review, the hospital director called me to apologize. She said she had looked over my file and everything that I had written was accurate. She said that everything was handled very poorly and that she would like to give me a refund. She refunded the full amount of the visit, minus the cost of the medication. I certainly did not expect this! I appreciate that this hospital took the time to find my file and call me. And of course I certainly appreciate the refund. The manager explained tha... read more

My 12 year old cat had a mass in his mouth and was not drinking and eating so I knew I had to get him to a vet asap. My vet was unable to get me in and so was my back up vet. Both vets recommended VCA for an emergency vet. So I headed over there and was seen quickly. I loved my doctor. She (Dr. Katelyn Miller) was very friendly and explained things very well. The vet tech was just as friendly. Those two put my mind at ease when I left there! I do understand some of these other bad reviews. When I checked out the person who... read more

I found out my dog "BabyJ" had cancer a few months ago, and the vet that we where going to did a horrible job at doing all he could for her, so he referred me to a Specialist which is VCA Animal Hospital, when we walked in the first day I felt so much love and I knew in my heart they where going to do all that was possible for "BabyJ". I prayed and prayed for a healing, I was in denial of the inevitable...So this day 04/02/16 we lost or Baby, she was 11yrs old, she waited for me to wake up and she looked at me and I told h... read more

I've had two very good experiences with VCA. The first time I thought I'd poisoned my (back then 2 cats) with Frontline, and showed up with them in a panic. Very shortly afterwards a veterinarian came out with several questions about what had happened and why I had brought them in. When she finally had all the information I could give her, she very patiently explained to me what had been going on and told me that my cats were fine. It only cost me $90 and thought that was absolutely worth my piece of mind. Last night I... read more
