RecommendedMy standard poodle, Henry, was recently diagnosed with a sudden onset grade 3 heart murmur. We were so upset and worried about the diagnosis and what to do next. The staff at Nashville Veterinary Specialists were ready to see Henry right on time the day of his appointment. They were very friendly, professional and caring. The tech that took him into the clinic was very warm and friendly. Our fur baby was ill and needed to be seen.. He was not at death’s door but very sick. I had to wait a few hours but while waiting in the parking lot I watched this vet emergency facility take in critically ill fur babies that needed to go before our Tango. Missy's intestines had grown inside her lungs. Our local vet recommended NVS. We were told Missy had a 50/50 chance of survival with surgery or we could put her to sleep. We opted for surgery. The doctors performed a miracle and she survived surgery The following 24 hours were critical - if her lungs expanded too fast, there was nothing they could do. Dr. Streppa performed an anal sac removal on my sweet, angel baby, Tow Mater last month. Although, it was rough d/t a med she basically held my hand through the entire ordeal. Me, being a STICU RN, I should’ve been able to handle it, but Mater is my baby. Unfortunately, we received news that it’s cancer and she sent us to Dr. Vancel (I had NO CLUE they were married, but thankful for the added blessing). When our local vet was concerned about neurological changes in our sweet cat, Fezzy, NVS was the place he recommended. We took our cat who was hospitalized for 3 days. I was very confident that he was treated with the love and knowledgeable care that he needed. We received update calls twice daily. Every person we spoke with was kind, patient, and willing to answer all of our questions. Fezzy is now on the mend, and we are very thankful for the care he received at NVS.
