Our dog had emergency surgery in October and we submitted a claim on November 3, 2020. Nationwide requested additional documentation from any veterinary visits since August and this was provided December 3, 2020. In January 2021 we received a letter indicating Nationwide needed another 30 days to process this claim. Another letter was received today, January 27, that another 30 days was necessary to process our claim.

Cancelled my auto policy through the agent, a representative of their company. 4 months later I receive a letter of collections. When I called, I was told it was pretty much my fault for going through the agent that is a representative of the company because the agent never submitted the paperwork. What I didn't like is while I was trying to explain what had happened, the attitude was that I was not telling the truth and owed them money for the coverage I had received for free. I’ve have had Nationwide as my homeowners insurance provider for 18 years. In that time I have never filed a claim. I have put up with yearly increases in the premium because that’s the way all insurance companies are. I just received my renewal bill. They have increased my premium by 25 percent for this next year. So instead of $825 the cost is now $1031. We are in the middle of a pandemic and the worst unemployment in decades and Nationwide thinks it’s ok to stick it to their customers like that? Shame on the whole company... read more
Actually would rate with negative stars if possible. Was sold a Nationwide New Heights 9 indexed annuity (3 yr point to point) in 2017 by a 'friend'. Since stock market was much higher after 3 years I expected there would be a good return on investment but $201,00 initial investment only grew to $204,000 over 3 years or about 0.5 % annual yield. Money left in market over that time nearly doubled in value. Instead, with this Nationwide annuity, when I withdrew it they kept over 10,000 of my money. $201,000 in and 3 years late... read more
After paying almost $ 1500 a years to Nationwide for more than 10 years without any accident ,two weeks ago the commercial truck hit me in back when he try to pass me and damaged my real light, Nationwide refuses to repair my car telling me that your car is total ,I could not believe ,my car engine is new, I bought a new engine in may 2015 and spend almost $ 10.000, they want me to give them my car title and accept $ 4000 ,I told them I can not found the same car used at that price ,by the end of this month I'm going to get ... read more

Horrible company!! We bought our house and they were recommended so we got a quote and accepted in Jan 2020. We were told they would do an inspection of the house and would call us if they needed further information. We get a letter in the mail here in December saying they would not be renewing our policy because they were unable to inspect the property. So I call them and the agent tells me that the underwriter said they tried calling us numerous times to inspect the property and could never get ahold of us!! That is a lie ... read more
Can't even begin to explain how awful this company is. If you are looking for a company that will treat you like a policy number and nothing more, not even the respect a human deserves but with the respect of you just being a number then this is the company for you. They messed up my claim process and told me to file two claims instead of amending the first and now I can't get another insurance company to cover me despite the fact nationwide didn't pay either claim because "I've filed two claims too close together" . By far the WORST SERVICE ever!! WARNING, if you're thinking of home owners insurance DON'T go with Nation wide. I was supposed to get a refund and after making 5 or so calls I was LIED to, Hung up on, getting the run around, told one story call 3 days later and got a completely different story, being told I CAN'T get my money returned they same way I paid but they would 2 day FedEx send it and give me a confirmation number then 4 days later after not receiving a confirmation number I was told they changed my refund to origin... read more
