Nationwide Pet Insurance is awful. I have been a member since November 2020 with their highest emergency plan with the wellness plan. They have not paid ONE claim since then, but they are happy to take my $90 each month. When I signed up for this, the sales agent told me that claims are paid within 30 days. This is a lie. They have been "reviewing" claims I submitted in January. It is now April and still nothing. I have claims that have been pending. No explanation. I began a Pet Insurance policy with Nationwide in the beginning of November 2020. Originally they told me it would take about two months to process any medical records. I only recently received notice that they were processed as of March 20, 2021 after numerous times calling and notifying them and being promised to be expedited to the front of the queue. Awful pet insurance! They used to be good but as you will see from many other reviews their service has really gotten bad over the last year or so. I have had a policy for my dog and paid in premiums for over 13 years. They say they will not ever cancel on your pet due to age but they just stop paying and make it so frustrating hoping you will drop it. Never in my life have I received such terrible service and only just filed for this 2 weeks ago. My name is ****** *****. I have not only been contacted for apologies by email for wrong name entered. Then received wrong papers by mail. I paid for a service I can't receive. I recorded this too everything. This is the WORST plan that you can have your pets. They charge you thousands of dollars and do not cover anything! If your dog develops any minor illness, all other treatments become secondary and they don't cover them. THEY just take your money and never cover anything.

Nationwide Pet Insurance is terrible and unethical. Stay away! My pet turned 13 in February at which time Nationwide increased the premium by over $100 per month! I was paying $142, which already reflected an increase in the premium from 2019. Now in March of 2021 my premium has increased to $249 a month! When I called to complain speaking to two different individuals, one being a supervisor, both repeated the same script saying that one factor in determining premiums was the age of the pet. Nationwide Pet Insurance is horrible; they do not care about the customer at all. They simply want to take your premiums, and they make customers jump through hoops every time a legitimate claim has been incurred. However, what prompted this review is after a year of covering my dog, upon renewal I was told by Nationwide that they had decided to exclude Lyme Disease for my dog (even though in the first year of coverage they covered it). I would like to warn anyone that has a travel policy with Nationwide Mutual Insurance (Travel company division) that you will be severely disappointed during this pandemic era if you file a claim relating to pandemic Covid19 issues. This company will not bend nor be flexible or understanding for any pandemic issues and exposures whatsoever when you file a claim. Nationwide Pet Insurance is extremely unethical and terrible to deal with. I pay $60 a month and have recently due to Covid am unemployed. My pet had an illness and the vet bill was over $700 which I had to front. I submitted my claim immediately and they made me jump through hoops for the proper reimbursement amount due to the vet not putting down a diagnosis. I had the paperwork corrected immediately and now I’m waiting on the correct reimbursement which was approved by Nationwide which is a bulk of the amount I paid. They... read more
