Got pet insurance for my pet, asked if all common ailments for my pet were covered. Was told they are, bought the insurance. Pet got sick not long after, took pet to vet for treatment. Insurance was canceled due to "preexisting conditions" my pet had. It had never been to a vet before so that was impossible to know. They also said the common conditions my pet had was not covered at all. Three times in just over six months they have misprocessed claims by making unjustified assumptions about things that were incorrect rather than taking any time to try to find out information (i.e. assuming a one-time prescription from 8 months ago was ongoing, assuming I had other insurance that I did not and randomly disallowing a claim for what they assumed I'd be paid by this other non-existent insurance). We purchased a new Homeowners Policy from Nationwide Insurance with a Policy Period of June 26, 2020 - June 25th, 2021. It was the lowest rate compared to others we received quotes from so were very happy. When it was time for renewal, the rate went up 22%. We called several times, and the agents gave us a generic answer of a "rate increase". I have a health and savings retirement account with Nationwide, and after leaving my previous company I attempted to withdraw money from this account to pay for medical expenses. Nationwide required that I feel out a form, provide recipes and direct deposit form so that they can deposit the funds into my bank account. I sent all required documentation to the PO box provided. on 4/24, severe hails hit our residence area. Most of our neighbors have changed their roof through hassle free process with their insurance company because hail damage was so obvious in my residence area. I Have been a customer for 0ver 15 Years - I have not been able to log on to my pet account for at lest 6 months and you keep rejecting one of my claims. I have 6 dogs on your insurance. Every Time I call i get disconnect or someone that tells me that they cant help me or that I should be able to log on. I cannot and the number that he suggested does not help. I cancelled my pet insurance after one week. Although the advertising says that congenital conditions are covered, they are also considered "pre-existing", and pre-existing conditions are excluded. Since "congenital" literally means "present at birth", this is disingenuous at best. At worst, it is outright fraudulent advertising. Apparently, you have to purchase Nationwide Pet Insurance before your pet is born if you actually want veterinary services to be covered.

I have their full coverage pet insurance. They denied my emergency vet visit because they are claiming that the itchy patch of skin on his side where the shelter's vet shaved before I got him to see a scar calls for a pre-existing condition of dermapathy. My emergency vet visit was an infected neck from a reaction to an Adaptil collar! How can they possibly be related?!
