Still waiting on a claim from January. Denied for medical records and then we submitted the medical records .. it has been 4 months with no movement if they are paying the claim.. It is the same as the other feedback with a notice that "another 30 days is needed" to review, and I it will be denied on everything like it was a pre-existing condition. They are either incompetent, under-staffed, or operating in bad faith. I'll also let my employer know about my experience and I have contacted the attorney general of WV. If you a... read more

Absolutely fraudulent company. I’m currently paying $135 for their most expensive, “premium” pet insurance plan as it was intended to cover my dog’s neuter. I submitted a claim 3/29/21, the same day my pup had surgery, and submitted an itemized receipt with all required info as prompted by their website. They obtained records within 48 hours, and promised my claim would be fulfilled in less than or equal to 30 days. If I could give them a zero I would facing layoff and eviction but I have $ in my account to help me. And they won’t release my money unbelievable I don’t qualify for emergency withdrawal n since I already have a loan ON my money I have to repay that before I can take a loan on my money where they profit on loan interest charge DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM!!!! Not a happy customer. It was devastating enough that my pet died, I could've done without the added hassle of trying to get claims paid. Their formula is obvious: 1) deny for medical records (even if they were submitted previously), 2) pend indefinitely with a recurring notice that "another 30 days is needed" to review, and I expect 3) will be a notice of denial on everything for whatever bull crap reason they can muster. My 18 yr old son and his friends spent 3.5 hrs on side of road waiting on tow truck that never showed, 2.5 hrs from home at 12:30 am to 4:00 am. Car ended up getting impounded OSP. Only took them 20 minutes to get tow truck there. In 3.5 hrs nationwide couldnt even tell us when it was going to get there

Nationwide will do anything to not cover a claim. I purchased the Whole Pet Wellness plan and as soon as my cat needed real treatment, outside of the monthly flea medication, Nationwide took 4 months to "review" my claims for epilepsy he developed before sending me a letter to notify me that they were dropping me due to "a pre-existing condition". They then continued to bill me monthly, even though they had stopped coverage. Avoid - you will be wasting your monecy because if your pet develops a real sickness, Nationwide will... read more

It is now April 10, 2021. Nationwide Pet Insurance is not responsive to the two claims I submitted (one in December 2020 and one in early January 2021). I have tried calling and you are not able to get a claims presentative on the phone, on sales representatives are available by phone. I have submitted online messages to the claims department and they continue to send me messages that they need an additional 30 days to review my claims. Think twice before purchasing pet insurance through Nationwide. This company will look for any excuse to prevent having to pay out what they promise you. After more than two months of submitting my claims and never hearing back from Nationwide, I had to continuously follow up to get anyone to provide answers.
