Horrible claim service. I filed a claim for my pet in January 2021 and I was told to allow 30 days for review of the claim. At 30 days and supplying additional information, I was told to wait 90 days. At the 90 day mark I was told it was still in review. At that time I canceled my policy. I mean I'm paying for claim coverage that I'm clearly not getting. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR PET INSURANCE. I have a one year cat and went to the vet for regular check up. It’s been 3 months and heard NOTHING back from Nationwide. Each month they sent you a letter saying they need another month to review (No other explanation) and this keeps going. How much time do you need to review the medical document for a one year cat? Complete Scam. I had a $4,000 surgery for my pet. I paid my premium for 11years with one small claim. I get a check $300. A slap in the face. For the actual surgery they gave me $90. The rest was anesthesia and testing. Ridiculous and heartless
I have been with nationwide for over 10+ years. I rarely have had to file any claims. In the instances where I filed a claim or inquired about a claim or ANY change to my coverages, I have been met with absurd customer service, blatantly rude, dismissive, and accusatory reps. Nationwide has cancelled my PAID car insurance coverages without my consent because I did not need to add my step son to my cars (he is insured through my husband). Still waiting on a claim from January. Denied for medical records and then we submitted the medical records .. it has been 4 months with no movement if they are paying the claim.. It is the same as the other feedback with a notice that "another 30 days is needed" to review, and I it will be denied on everything like it was a pre-existing condition. Absolutely fraudulent company. I’m currently paying $135 for their most expensive, “premium” pet insurance plan as it was intended to cover my dog’s neuter. I submitted a claim 3/29/21, the same day my pup had surgery, and submitted an itemized receipt with all required info as prompted by their website. They obtained records within 48 hours, and promised my claim would be fulfilled in less than or equal to 30 days. Not a happy customer. It was devastating enough that my pet died, I could've done without the added hassle of trying to get claims paid. Their formula is obvious: 1) deny for medical records (even if they were submitted previously), 2) pend indefinitely with a recurring notice that "another 30 days is needed" to review, and I expect 3) will be a notice of denial on everything for whatever bull crap reason they can muster.
