Do NOT go here. All the negative reviews are true. I have been to this clinic many many times over the years (my dog is senior) and they constantly misdiagnose, overcharge, have terrible communication, make you wait outside for 45 minutes (they are ALWAYS late) and don't even allow you in the room with your dog - you have to wait OUTSIDE. They blame it on Covid but come on, at this point every vet, doctor and clinic have figured out how to manage around Covid restrictions. The front desk ignores you if you go to the door. Th... read more

Two stars because I feel their care was almost adequate. However, once your credit card is charged you can forget about any post visit support from this place. They also flat out refuse to approve any medication requests from other pet pharmacies, holding you hostage to buy medications from them directly at inflated prices. They eventually approved my dogs medications but it took several emails and phone calls for me to make that happen. I sent a very polite email asking for them to approve my dogs meds, and the email I rece... read more

Business response:

Dear Todd, I'm sorry you had that experience, we do try and advocate for your pet, with online pharmacy's, they do not guarantee the product, and should your pet have a problem, it's your veterinarian you contact, not a big warehouse. Our online pharmacy does try to be competitive in the market. Certainly communication could have been better, and we are working on improving it. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Super disappointed with the care and customer service here. My 4 year old golden retriever has been a patient for over a year now and has been misdiagnosed, I've received terrible communication from the Doctor and staff, and the receptionist is incredibly rude. You aren't assigned to one vet in particular, you have to rotate through the group based on availability, so there is no relationship or opportunity for the doctor to get to know your pet. I with Dr. Ramos (who was lovely in person) a few times trying to ask a fo... read more

Business response:

Dear Erica, I'm sorry you had that experience, it's not who we strive to be, and we are working on improving our communication. Dr. Ramos is a dedicated veterinarian, who cares about her patients. We should've taken the time to understand your pet's needs. We are trying to improve customer service skills, and appreciate you taking the time to inform us and relate your experience. Client's can always request the doctor they'd like to see, we do our best to accommodate them. Communication is key, and we are aware it needs impr... read more

I put my dog down here about a year ago due to his old age and illnesses. The staff had 0 compassion for the death of my dog. They didn't even give me a minute to grieve and asked for my card information while I was crying (the minute my dog was put down). Also I had asked the girl if she could change my option, I had asked to have my dog cremated and his remains spread in a cemetery. But I called back the next day and asked if I could have that changed to keep his ashes. She had said she would ask and the next day called me... read more

I am writing this review just minutes after returning home from Northside Veterinary Clinic. Just days after a visit to this clinic my 16-year-old cat's health started declining rapidly. Prognosis was not good. Her health continued to decline, not eating or drinking, excessive weight loss, came on fast and furious. We (my wife and I) concluded that euthanasia was the most humane thing we could do to bring a peaceful ending to our 16 years long adventure. Having made our decision, we proceeded to make an appointment to the n... read more

I brought my young dog in for some digestive problems early this year, we have a pitbull mix that we rescued and saw a younger doctor, he was helpful and addressed our problems in a non-judgemental way. When we came back for an eye infection we saw dr Eisner who made us feel like terrible owners, and wouldn't even spend the time to answer our questions. We moved away and don't look back.

I would like to give Dr. Eisner zero stars for total incompetence. Dr. Eisner is out to lunch and we blame her for the horrific death of our French bulldog. After taking him into her office over a period of months where he presented very alarming symptoms, we were repeatedly assured there was nothing seriously wrong with him. Then Covid happened and she DISAPPEARED. When he wouldn't get up, we were forced to bring him to the Animal Hospital in Manhattan during April 2020 of Covid where we had to surrender him and literally w... read more

This review is not based on the service here. We never received it. It is in regard to the quote that I received to spay my puppy: $800-$1500! Are you kidding me?! That range is double to triple what other reputable vets charge!! Unfortunately many are backed-up due to COVID and won't have availability until December to January.

My partner came home having had a very frustrating experience at Northside. We were worried about our cat due to some scabbing on his face, and the vet was anything but kind and understanding. She did not introduce herself to my partner, was curt, and didn't take the time to answer my partner's questions. Vets should understand that folks are bringing their animals to them because we are concerned and we deserve time and respect of the healthcare provider. Will not be returning.
