The staff is very nice but they are not competent and are incredibly unorganized. Used this vet for a couple of years and they did not diagnose simple issues over the course of a year that our new vet has since resolved within weeks, including 1) What was a very clear abscess caused by a dental issue that cause my dog pain for 9 months (resolved very quickly with an operation by our new vet versus Northside's recommendation to keep my dog on antibiotics for months); 2) Seizures caused by a flea and tick medication they reco... read more

Dr. Lehman and Dr. Raud are great! I really appreciate their thoughtfulness in their diagnostic visit. I would give the clinic a 5 star if not for the girls working the reception area. Unfortunately their front desk staff makes the visits and phone calls a very unpleasant experience. The girls at the reception area always have an attitude, are impatient and very unfriendly. Any requests put to them seems like a great imposition. I have been going there for more than 3 years and this has been my repeated experience.

Stay Away if you can. Was using this vet for seven years out of necessity, but steadily the service has declined. Consistent with most of the recent reviews: 1. Frequently recommends seemingly unnecessary treatments, exams, extra visits, and labwork to rack up a bill. 2. Doesn't help you submit pet insurance claims (they used to). 3. Does not sell Heartguard or flea/tick prevention (they used to). Also, won't call prescriptions into the pharmacy for you. 4. Charges you for an unnecessary "vaccine examination fee" star... read more

Venus who answers the phone is very rude. She is dishonest and hung up on me in the middle of a conversation. The vets are good but billing and the front desk have me going elsewhere after 3 years of taking my puppy here. On a more minor note, I was told I would be charged a "deposit" of $180 on a service for my puppy but was charged the full amount before the service was rendered. When I questioned why this was the case Venus said that the full amount was the deposit and denied that I was misquoted. Just odd and frustrating... read more

Okay dog/pet owners. This is the worse vet that my wife and I have ever been to. They are so uncaring. We took our dog here for about 5 years ( a friend who lives in Bushwick recommended them). And we just became more and more frustrated with their very mediocre service over the years. When we lived in Manhattan, we took our prior dogs to Grammercy Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Kuhlman. He was really great! But back to Northside Vet, pass on these guys...just horrible service. For example, we would try and get heart guard etc fr... read more

I've taken my pupper to Northside for the past two years with a couple dozen appointments so far. Current rating is well earned - quality of care is high but the clinic is spectacularly disorganized with little followup. All paper front office that is oversubscribed. The patients receive strong treatment once inside an exam room, but logistics for anything ongoing is more difficult that it needs to be. Most recently engaged them for ~$400 over two appointments to prepare my dog for a trip to the UK. We were ultimately denie... read more

I have never written a bad review in my life but my experience here was unreal. Northside messed up our new puppies vaccinations, the office never told us to come back in after I repeatedly asked if we need to come back after our initial puppy checkup. We went in a few months later for neutering and were chastised in the waiting room by Dr. Eisner who said ' the best I can do is tell someone to come back in'... I'm sorry no, the best you can do is put it on any of the forms you sent us home with, which I checked as soon as I... read more

You can tell that the clinic is a bit older/ not as modern, which I'm fine with. The vet and technicians are fine. What really bothers me is the clinic's administration. -- Even if you need something as simple as a follow-up shot and arrive on time for your appointment, be ready to spend here at least an hour and a half. - The receptionist is extremely rude (both over the phone and in person). - I asked for my dog's records a week ago -- still haven't had them emailed. I did mention multiples times that it was urgent. ... read more
