my dog gosh, its just so easy and laid back here. The only problem is the small waiting room so sometimes is a barkfest. I find them to be true scientists. They love animals and can explain the logic behind why they suggest the procudures etc. A nice resource to have. Update: over new years my dog got sick. The first day back from NEW YEARS eve, they were able to get him a fecal test and a follow up visit the next morning 1st thing. I was so shocked by all the negative reviews on Yelp about the Northside Veterinary Clinic they were so kind to my dog Coco and myself we are changing to Dr. Eisner for Coco's primary vet. I just like the energy of the clinic.

Dr. Leiman is remarkable in his work with animals and their people. He knows his stuff, is empathetic and kind, and really listens to people to understand how animals are acting at home. My wife and I have been taking our cats here for checkups for a very long time but recently went through the difficult experience of treating a cat through the stages of terminal lymphoma. We've been taking our cat to Northside for nearly ten years and they've treated us and our cat very well- including saving her life once. So, I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews that are posted here- some are authentic complaints while many seem be more offended by the size of the waiting room (welcome to NYC) and the vets giving advice on nutrition and diet (you don't want doctors giving diet and nutritional advice?). When I edited my profile here on Yelp, I added "Bodega kitty on Keap" as my "Current Crush." After a year and a half of infrequent run-ins with this most adorable cat, she's now mine. It's quite a story which has roots in my 10-year desire to find an orphaned female cat and name her Miette after the badass chick in City of Lost Children that is the leader of the orphans. Dr. Leiman and Dr. Eisner are excellent vets! I have to agree with Kurtis H. in saying that you can get the best of both worlds (traditional Western medicine & holistic medicine) at this clinic. Though even with the traditional treatment they will never over medicate your pet. They understand the perils of over-vaccinating and the importance of feeding your animals a nutritious diet. And just to add to my initial review... Dr. Leiman knowledge of "the" top specialists in the field - from their expertise to their "bedside manner" - is beyond extraordinary. And again, so thorough in even suggesting who to see for a second opinion. His communication lines are amazing with the specialists and then immediately back to us. So grateful for him.

I took in a cat off the street (who followed my friends home one night) and wanted her checked out ASAP. I was able to get her in with NVC the same day. Everyone was very attentive, knowledgeable and kind. They even gave us a discount, feeling bad that we weren't expecting vet bills since we just took her in off the street. It was such a great experience that my friend will be taking his cat there from now on. Thanks, NVC!
