Was surprised to see all the negative reviews here. I've always had good experiences with Northside, and recommend them to people. My dog is easy and healthy, but still, they've done right by me. I like both Leiman and Eisner. And the front desk staff, from what I can remember. I've done my share of waiting, but thats true of any vet I've ever been to.
The 2 and 1/2 star on Yelp is undeserved. I feel that the only reason someone posts on Yelp is to complain. I have nothing but praise. Best vet I have ever taken my dog to. Caring, not pandering. Practical not money-grubbing. Clear in instruction, guidance and very generous with time. Most importantly, very compassionate and caring. Dr. Leiman explained a lot of things during the exam and recommended what to do and signs to look for in the future. He also commented on stuff I did not even go there for, and the information was very helpful. I agree that the waiting room is too small, which makes it a bit whacky. And I see how it can be a wait. But think about it - there is no ER for dogs. When I had an emergency last week, they squeezed me in; today I paid it forward by having to wait.

my dog gosh, its just so easy and laid back here. The only problem is the small waiting room so sometimes is a barkfest. I find them to be true scientists. They love animals and can explain the logic behind why they suggest the procudures etc. A nice resource to have. Update: over new years my dog got sick. The first day back from NEW YEARS eve, they were able to get him a fecal test and a follow up visit the next morning 1st thing. I was so shocked by all the negative reviews on Yelp about the Northside Veterinary Clinic they were so kind to my dog Coco and myself we are changing to Dr. Eisner for Coco's primary vet. I just like the energy of the clinic.
Dr. Leiman is remarkable in his work with animals and their people. He knows his stuff, is empathetic and kind, and really listens to people to understand how animals are acting at home. My wife and I have been taking our cats here for checkups for a very long time but recently went through the difficult experience of treating a cat through the stages of terminal lymphoma. dr daniel lieman and his staff are excellent. i moved from the west village and was scared to change vets. my dog needed to get her teeth cleaned and i peppered the staff and vet with a ton of questions. lieman and his team were very patient, he assured me he does the cleaning personally and supervises the vet tech when they administer the sedative. they did a great job, followed up, and were very reasonably priced cant get better service
We've been taking our cat to Northside for nearly ten years and they've treated us and our cat very well- including saving her life once. So, I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews that are posted here- some are authentic complaints while many seem be more offended by the size of the waiting room (welcome to NYC) and the vets giving advice on nutrition and diet (you don't want doctors giving diet and nutritional advice?).
