The TECHS are literally practicing on your animal. My sick cat was mortified with the lack of experience these techs had. It was painful to see my cat so stressed out over simple blood test that should have taken seconds toke minutes.. I regret not interfering sooner. UP-SELLING thats all they do.ITS HUGE FOR THEM.. With test and med... Its so cramped in there at times. All they pretty much care about is the money and if you noticed just slightly you will get what i mean...Go somewhere else, too many vets around. Always peo... read more

By very careful of Dr. Raud at Northside. This is a nice vet's office but it does have a scam artist working there posing as a vet. He will try to get you to sign up for getting your dog vaccinated every few weeks. I spoke with another dog owner at the McCarren park dog run recently and she said she had the same problem. He pushed hard on unnecessary frequent vaccinations. This is not only a big waste of money it is also unhealthy for your dog. I have a terrier and he told me after looking at his mouth that he must have mos... read more

I have been bringing my cat to Northside since 2009. Overall, I have been pleased with the care he has received, although up-selling, as others have mentioned, is a real problem. Dr. Leiman is a gentleman, and has a wonderful manner and way with pets. Likewise, the younger vets have all been great, aside from the up-selling. Dr. Eisner is problematic. It is largely her unprofessional manner that has been off-putting. She is a fear monger - everything is a catastrophe and she seems to place herself in opposition to the pet o... read more

A visit to this place will leave you traumatized forever. Unfortunately I've done it twice. Sometimes you don't learn your lesson the first time. 1) First to of all I have NEVER seen office staff this rude. Starting with the office manager Ginger, most of the staff is incredibly dismissive and combative. They have us against them attitude. I wanted them to send my cat's blood work to a specialists and called them every day for three weeks and they never sent it. I had to go back to this place, get the blood work in person ... read more

Business response:

Dear Faith, We hope that honoring our request that you find another vet has worked out well for your cats. Nia and Nicky are wonderful little guys and we wanted to help them. We could not, however, allow you to harass and berate our receptionists and office staff as you did on more than one occasion. Take care. Dan Leiman

If you are looking for a place to take your pet for routine check ups, I would not recommend Northside Veterinary Clinic. If you are a first time pet owner, beware of this clinic. They will upsell you on products you don't need and will recommend procedures that are unnecessary. I live right around the corner from this place and decided to take my new puppy there. Pet insurance is a great idea but who needs to be pushed into making a decision on getting it. I get it you probably make commission if I sign up through you. H... read more

Does anyone else feel like this place tries to upsell you on everything? I brought my dog in for a routine appointment back in October 2013, and right from the start they tried to get me to sign up for some animal insurance. First the person at the desk pushed the insurance. Once I was in an exam room, some other person came in and once again pressured me on the insurance. And then as I was leaving, they mentioned it again! Makes me wonder if they have some sort of financial/kickback relationship with the pet insurance compa... read more

First, I am sorry that we obviously didn't connect. My understanding was that your reason for bringing your dog, Butters, in was for a general checkup and to help her with her anxiety. Greyhounds are a breed prone to hypothyroidism. This condition can present with symmetrical hair loss and emotional disorders such as anxiety. I mentioned to you that the skin issue could be related to her caging as a racing dog, but the symmetrical and non inflammatory nature of the hair loss made me suspicious of hypothyroidism. As part o... read more

I took my cat here this afternoon for the first time, he had some swelling on his lip. The front desk staff was quite short and not friendly at all, god forbid you should smile. Maybe I just caught them on an off day. Our visit was with Dr. Nagy-she was very nice, pleasant and seemed to care about what she was doing. The one thing I really did not care for was she googled images of what his condition was with me still in the room. It was as though she were double checking to make sure she had an accurate diagnosis-not ideal... read more

i always liked eisner, seemed like a good vet and a good guy. but eisner was a nightmare. zero bedside manner. ignored me and my dog when he had an injury that needed emergency attention. she kept speaking with another patient in the waiting room regarding a holistic diet regimen, ignoring my bleeding dog. incredible.

Do NOT Take your pet here. The staff is unfriendly. You will be kept waiting. The Veterinary Technicians are rude and do not care about animals or their owners. The Veterinarian will come in and try to upsale you on anything extra that they can think of. The exam rooms are dirty and rundown. There are much better options in the neighborhood.
